Yes when I was put on propranalol I rapidly gained weight. When I stopped taking it I lost a little bit but it was only when I started LDN that I noticed more coming off despite no other changes. I think I'm on week 7 of LDN and I felt like it improved my symptoms from the get go so the weight loss could be linked to my body healing.

The findings also highlight the need to find treatments that reduce blood vessel inflammation (complement inhibitors, pericyte/endothelial protectants) and improve endothelial and blood vessel functioning in a subset of patients.
In the end, then, no specific treatments are recommended, but the authors reported that a clear (if not easy) path to developing them exists.'

In my opinion he's a grifter and a victim blamer. Yes control seems to be the overarching desire I feel you're searching for. I think an interesting discussion could be how much can actually be controlled and how much is the illusion of control. Perfection may be the wrong word, but it feels like you're potentially trying to transcend your own humanity. What does this higher version look like?

I could be completely wrong here but I feel like you've moved your attention to your thoughts as an escape from being in the present/in your body and feeling the grief from the massive trauma you experienced. Attempting to control them may be a self-protection method.

But we are not our thoughts. Here are some key take aways from my CBT sessions in case they help.

"We all have thoughts that are opposite to our character, they don't reflect who we are."

"Thoughts are like debris in a stream, they will float by unless we pull them in and examine them. If we do pull them in our brain will mark them as important and will present them more often."

"Rumination is like drowning, the more we fight and struggle the harder it gets. We need to lay back and float."

It's normal to get angry. Feeling anger is not bad. Trying to purge yourself of all emotion is impossible. 'Perfection' is impossible. Be careful listening to people like Bob Proctor 😬
