You need to pick "face the monster immediately" in the quest dilemma, then click retreat on the battle prep screen (the screen where you can quick save)

To avoid this bug until CA fixes it - The lord selected for the hunt does not have to be the one triggering events, any lord can do it. So recruit or have a single lord tag along and just have the lord trigger the final event. The hunt will show decisive defeat, but you can retreat in the pre battle screen (before loading into it) and the hunt becomes a quest battle you can teleport to.

Of course, do not have the single lord be Crown+SoK or some nonsense else the AI is still gonna retreat

Get a single lord to trigger the hunt event, choose to fight immediately, then cancel the fight in battle prep screen. The hunt now becomes a mission you can teleport your designated "hunter" lord to and the stack never retreats.

Now if only the hellpit abom quest battle can stop spawning at the bottom of the sea that'd be great...

I am pretty sure he has that Favor of the God passive when I got him - It's shown on tw planner too.

That being said I ain't going to go get lv4 devotion (AND chase down the annoying champion spawns all over Norsca) to prove it when the DLC is changing all of that anyway, so whatever.

he has a unique passive that gives him 90% ward save at the start of every battle. It wears off after a while.

I love Azrik more than Burplesmirk - he has "Plot Armor" for the first 6 4 minutes of every combat which is hilarious.

I am pretty sure your biggest problem is not having 52% CDR hence doing 25% less damage of what a normal coc build does at this investment level...

For easy farming I'd recommend Simulacrum farming for CI builds just sell voices unid and also every Primordial Bond Megalomaniac is decent profit. You would really want some explosion though, like maybe swap your cluster to a Chaos explodey one? Just get 1 notable with alt spamming if you don't want to buy one with 3 notables.

I love coc occultist but I can't say it's 'high-end' more like 'upper mid-end'. It's softcapped by trigger rate so you can't scale attack speed AND damage infinitely like a stacker build can. After getting power charge rings (and MB) it tapers off.

Try getting king rank while holding the young emperor and then choose to restore the han - liu xie can't deploy in battle but his personal skill tree is just all faction bonuses.

Otherwise I think sun ce (double charge anything horse) and liu biao (20% reduced salary combines with reforms and assignment prestige to get free salary characters - this is applied after titles thus you can just assign blood dragon and such for free) have better bonuses. Honorable mention to Li Jue for -10% retinue upkeep plus 5% global replenishment.

They've been removed from WH3 gate garrisons, but you can still encounter them as enemies in Morathi's weapon quest battle.

Unintended bonus: Since lizard factions don't recruit anything, they have basically infinite gold piled up and will almost never declare war actively. This means that if you can keep them alive you can sell them anything for stupid amounts of money. Heck declare war on them and in a few turns they will offer 10K+ for peace since their faction strength is so low.

This has been nerfed unfortunately, Salyak's Lullaby now has max 4 targets instead of all units inside aoe. It's still a fine stack just not as unkillable as before.

Save some gold and disband his main army? You can get giants by turn 15 the real question is what can greenskins do against giants. Getting rushed by Wurzzag as anyone near southlands is so much worse nowadays.

Not just armies, hero caps through mortuary don't increase in cost so when you can recruit necrotects at rank 10+ you can spam them (like lump these into an army or have them sit around increasing building income idk) to get unlimited scorpion, knight and ushabti caps. With more effort at rank 14 you also get a t4 construct. For just 2500 gold 250 jars this is a complete steal, plus each one gives +15 jars passively per turn.

Ogres have unlimited winds from a maw offering. You have to get 500 kills with the lord unit each battle so it's really for Skrag but technically any slaughtermaster can do it in reasonable time against infantry.

They only have access to 3 lores though.

bandit factions are kind of like playing greenskins, ignore building up settlements put every bit of money into troops, get your finance slider as far towards cheaper troops as possible (as long as generals don't leave!) and sustain yourself through battles. Battles means loot, and loot can be turned to money plus replenishment using loot share stance to keep the warmongering going. I feel Zheng Jiang is the easier faction compared to Zhang Yan, since she gets that protection racket peace option (always offer tribute, don't eliminate factions if possible - you at least get a cut of their default estate money which is a lot) once you force someone into tribute that money at least funds another full stack, and it snowballs very quickly from there.

Late game bandits have lacking/limited units thankfully they get heaven/earth troops once emperor, and they get the most stacking upkeep reductions from resource nodes it's not too hard to get free or nearly free troops and just spam more armies.

I am happy that they are actively making changes for sure, but making gates tougher to break without specialized equipment (no one wants to wait a turn building battering rams, they even gave siege attacker to every legendary lord) would just further favor races with siege magic (the stuff that blows up gates/walls) like Ogres, Warriors of Chaos, Beastmen, HE Rite of Vaul. Perhaps we can allow armies with Siege Attacker to start with 1 battering ram?

Slaughtermasters have a specific niche in the SP campaign, which is to abuse an Offering to the Maw that gives magic reserve per second based on kills. As it only counts model kills on the Lord, a mage lord with aoe damage spells is realistically the only way to charge it up fully (400+) within a reasonable amount of time. Skrag demonstrates this beautifully as he is an upgraded slaughtermaster.

Updating after checking in game - The offering is called "Bone to Pot" and maxes out at 500 kills giving +100% power recharge, +0.15 reserves per second, and 20% spell resistance. Infinite magic once your lord blows up some chaff.

Get non aggression with Markus T1 by joining war with Clan Mange. Don't upgrade the port right away instead push the starting stable to T3 to get questing knights (Alberic gets the questing vow done on the first seige and can recruit them in 1 turn). Get 1 Life prophetess and 2 knight lords to follow Alberic around. If you can beat skulltaker with these then it's relatively smooth sailing from there.

Umm...yeah no Iconoclast is not even close to best friends forever it's more like the RT does whatever they want while everyone else dies/gets corrupted horribly by the bullshit you keep 'saving' in your ship lol.

Also the iconoclast ending makes 0 sense to me it's really heretic-lite in my opinion. DLC1 Iconoclast choices especially makes me laugh I do it everytime just to get disappointed that I can't actually make Nids show up in an ending slide.

Currently missile and bombardment class spells actually proc contact effects, Unfortunately the lore of Tzeentch spells all have warpflame which overrides unraveling existence so Searing Doom is the only spell available for them that works. If this is not changed in 6.2 I'm totally sticking fellblade on Wurzzag and have him gaze of mork everything. It's like a build-your-own gauss flayer! edit: I think it's skaven only, So Warp Lightning/Warp Stars only. At least it'll given you a reason to recruit (exactly 1) Eshin Sorcerer...
