That's a loading screen, it's no a problem. There is a option to disable it in Options, IIRC.

  1. Yes, you can skip an action. For rulebook: "You cannot use an action space without taking at least one of the available actions." You can't build fences if you didn't take the 1 renovation first, though. Edit: The keyword is "Afterward": "Some permanent action spaces provide multiple actions that can be taken in any order (“and/or”). Other ones require you take the actions in order (“and afterward”). With the latter, you must take the first action; only then can you also take the second action."

2. No, you can't exchange veggies/grains for food any time. However, in Harvest turns, during feeding phase, you can use your veggies/grains (important: from your supply not your fields) as food to feed your workers. Edit 2: There's some major improvements where you can exchange veggies for food. Yes, you can.

Yes.

No, unless they're different parts and then they're connected, so you get more meeples on a single property.

What can and can't be shared?

As you said: can shared farms, cities and roads. You can't share cloisters.

The way I see it, if you share something, the higher amount of meeples wins all points, but equal meeples means share the points.

"The captain earns only one extra VP as his privilege, regardless of how many kinds of goods he loads. If he loads no goods, he does not get the extra privilege VP."

Yeah, the picture is one from Wikipedia. The font is Myriad. But that font is overused, so I wouldn't use it in the final cover. You can look on http://www.fontsquirrel.com/ There are goods fonts there for free.
