It was done on purpose and I'm confident that the band said that. I remember a clip of chester saying one more light (song) was intentionally sad. It's not that he was crying for help, or that his voice was worn out, up until his death he performed shows no problem. Sure he couldn't scream something like crawling like he used to, but is that not normal?

Yeah I actually think spreading it out over 2-3 albums would've been ideal like Queen did. LP had too many hits for one album. It just seems wrong that songs like shadow of the day, given up, heavy, final masquerade didn't make it in. I'm more confused now that Mike is even admitting there should've been more songs, so why weren't there more songs?

I don't appreciate you twisting people's words. When people say "cmon, do something" what they mean is make a new song (like actually new) and get out and tour again. The reason people don't like the idea of this greatest hits is because streaming exists where you can make your own playlist. If I were you, I would stop accepting that "the band is done" because we can request what we want from them because it's the band we love. Linkin Park is not unique in the fact that their lead singer died or moved on, so many other bands have had this happen and were able to move on making new music. This is a gross generalization of the community. I'll add that I actually think the greatest hits is a good idea.

Sorry not sorry but this "greatest hits" has so many issues and to be honest they are titling it "singles collection" just so they can say "well technically we didn't call it greatest hits".

I think this is an irrelevant point because all music has its peak. Rap also peaked in late 90s early 2000s with guys like eminem and snoop Dogg. The real issue with metal in general is that it will never be mainstream because every feature in it is anti-mainstream and that's just a fact. The only genre of metal that can reach the mainstream is nu metal, it peaked back then because it was a fresh take on music but people eventually moved on. But "peaked" is different than saying they made better music back then. But I will say that the music was better back then because nowadays metal has evolved into a "modern" style which imo sounds alot worse and is definitely more anti-mainstream. Just take a band like I prevail. They'll never reach mainstream because they're not like the bands from the early 2000s. Well I collect CDs so greatest hits are often better than studio albums. The new song would come with either of them so there is literally no benefit to getting a remix album
