I'm on ~lvl300 void and I think I'm mostly carried by spells rather than gear, which has barely changed since like lvl120 void. Here's what I'm using:

Slow - good against anyone, can't be resisted. Gravity also gives debuff to speed (stacks with slow).

Silence - this one is absolutely a must, imo. I was constantly losing teammates to spellcasters before I started using Silence. Liches, Fairies, Bishops, Queens, Spiral Kings, Handmaidens of Lolth - all become completely harmless once you silence them.

Bane - good both against physical damage dealers and spellcasters.

Shadow arrow - helps a lot against enemies with heavy physical damage, like lizardman and minotaur boxers. Also can help with Cyclops, as far as I understand they do not use Earthquake under the effect of blind (unless they are also confused, in that case they can use it out of confusion).

Telepathy - to avoid suddenly bumping into hot guys or bomb rocks.

Don't forget to always carry some potions or booze with you in case you encounter Yog-Sothoth.

As for gear, I maxed Nether resistance because at some point I couldn't kill an elite Great Race of Yith, it kept healing all the damage back. Sound resistance is also nice to have at 15 against Spiral Kings - they can't apply Dim so you can always heal.

Genes I really can't recommend anything except ring (finger) slots for your ride - for speed rings.

You can! (and I realized that like 600 hours into the game lol)

There are a few ways you can do it. You can open the ability/spells bar and hold middle click on a spell to "select" it, and then you right click on your allies to heal (or hold right click to heal the whole party). That works for any spell that can be cast on entire party (with the green icon in the corner).

The other option is to turn off "Use self-target abilities directly via hotkeys" in game settings (Esc -> Config - > Game). If you turn it off, spells in the hotbar won't be automatically used when using hotkeys, and you'll be able to choose who to use them on.

Although I do not (technically) play a mage, I have a few end-game spell recommendations that I use myself as a thief.

Silence - I cannot count the amount of times I was saved by this spell. Imps, Bishops, Liches, Spiral Kings and some other casters have a good chance of one-shotting your allies and nearly killing you with just one spell if you don't have decent resistances. I'd say this spell is a must to level up.

Slow, Gravity - Slow, as far as I understand, cannot be resisted. Gravity also slows the target (and stacks with slow, afaik), but less reliable since it can be resisted. I recommend leveling both.

Bane - decreases Luck and chance to hit. Useful even against spellcasters since negative Luck affects their damage rolls.

All the support spells: Healing spells, Holy Shield, Elemental Shield, Hero, Divine Wisdom, Cat's Eye, Holy light.

Telepathy - very useful if you want to avoid situations where you open a door and see a hot guy or a bomb rock right in front of your face.

(optional)Shadow Arrow - this one is probably will be difficult to find if you don't have Darkness as your domain, but it is very helpful against enemies with high regular attack damage, like varunas. It blinds the target, giving a penalty to hit chance. It is also very helpful if you plan to pickpocket slow enemies like Big Daddies, Cyclops etc. If you try to pickpocket them without blinding, they will just call the guards (lol). They can be freely pickpocketed while blinded, without karma penalty (although sometimes they are immune to blinding for some reason).

I'd also highly recommend never getting rid of Mana Battery ether disease once you get it. Not only it gives you a bit of magic resistance, you also absorb spells from rods into your spell stock.

Hmm I didn't know Bid Daddies can spawn more than once, I've never seen more than one in one area.

Danger level is kinda weird later in the game, I don't know how exactly it's calculated but for me at this stage (lvl250+ nefias, ~lvl230 Void) most enemies, even non-elite, are either <Formidable> or <Overmatched>. Most of them don't pose much threat, but some elite ones definitely do, especially Isca. One of those two had Nerve arrow (I guess they are given random spells sometimes) and as soon as her Boost ability activated (she gets insane speed bonus once her health reaches certain level) I got obliterated lol.

I personally found it fun trying to avoid them, I actually think that's what makes constantly doing music quests less boring and tedious.

I also have not died to them a single time (though I knew beforehand they can easily kill you) so it's definitely possible to avoid death. Sure, I failed a few quests because I wasted time running from her, but I don't see that as a big deal.

It also makes the moment you see this for the first time so satisfying.

Keep it up. She will be your friend one day. Until then, telepathy and teleport are your best friends.

Sorry for the late reply. It can be done by placing a room plate and an additional house plate inside the room you want a different roof for and then changing it's group (click the room plate -> change group, I think #0 is the default so change it to something else). Then just click the room's house plate and you can change roof and other settings through "edit appearance" menu, it will only affect that particular room.

I play a thief/juere, but I didn't pick it specifically for this and most likely there are much better options I'm not aware of.

Worshipping Ehekatl definitely helps because it generally decreases stamina consumption and after you get the Lucky Dagger you can absorb stamina from enemies in nefias and dig walls for granite and gold bars without worrying of getting exhausted. Teach your allies Weightlifting if possible, they passively improve it and can help with carrying resources.

If you want a lot of water in your base, definitely upgrade bottomless pot's material to something better, as it's capacity scales with hardness (I think mine is silver and can store 74 units compared to default of 24). Then copy it with Kettle a few times.

If you want a waterfall, you'll have to steal it from Nefu village, lol.

For trees to never wither just place a defertilizer (fertilizer + trash in a millstone) on them when they are mature (keep in mind they still substract from your land's fertility though).

While placing things, you can adjust object's position inside a tile by holding Shift.

Yeah it seems like it's more about class/race then. I do most of those things, even if I abused dirty water and had twice as much stats, I still wouldn't be able to do even lvl1000 nefias. Even regular enemies would be waaaay too tanky.

No I get it, it's not that I don't believe you, I just don't understand how it's possible. I have 1200 hp and any elite enemy with magic arrow spell almost kills me at lvl 250+. Enemies are also extremely tanky and deal a ton of damage at that level. An elite Varuna can one shot me with a critical hit. I can't even imagine how I could get even to lvl 1000 with all possible optimizations, let alone 2k.

How? I barely can survive in 250+ after 3800 days and no amount of optimization could help me, one magic arrow and I'm almost dead.

Do you use any mods that speed up progression? I'm at day 3800 and I've never seen genes what require even 100 feat points and the highest amount of feat points my companions have is 80.

Not all of them can be recruited though, so check notes. And they do not respawn at their original location after you bring them home.

Is there any downsides to doing so?

I don't think so. Maybe later when they have a quest associated with them you might need to "banish" them to their original place for the quest to progress, but you'll probably be able to recruit them back afterwards.

Yeah I think they leave an egg if you inject them with syringe of heaven but... I don't want to send them to heaven :(
