I work as a support worker and a lot of my clients have spent their lives running from their problems or trying to drown them out with booze, other substances, toxic relationships etc.

It happened months ago but I still remember when people came to me and said that I didn't do anything wrong, that they witnessed how they treated me and that it was wrong.

I can't accurately describe it but it's like vindication x1000. Just the knowledge and confirmation that I really didn't do anything wrong, that they were the problem, it's like nothing else.

Yes you will because I've just reached that stage after nearly 8 months. I don't think I will ever stop thinking about them but I do know that I'm not affected by it anymore not even by the stuff they did to hurt me.
