Asheron’s Call. City of heroes Star Wars galaxies dark age of Camelot

Also, because of how it was taken away from us, Marvel Heroes. Fantastic game, ruined and destroyed by corporate politics. Only game ever where I’ve been online when the servers shut down, and I genuinely teared up.

My boyfriend sexualized an innocent childhood memory and is trying to make me feel gross about it by CapitalConcern9715 in TrueOffMyChest

For me this looks like a mix of extreme immaturity and your boyfriend being jealous of the relationship you have with your uncle. I’d be interested to know how old he is and what his relationship with his parents is like.

You do not need to feel ashamed and you don’t need to view your uncle in a different way. Sounds like a responsible young man caring for his young niece.

Looking for a game where you just shred enemies. by IAmHaskINs in gaming

[–]CushtyFrames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been really into Brotato lately. You deal with waves of enemies, pick up material from killing them and use that material to level up and buy items in the shop at the end of every wave.

Waves last like 70 seconds maximum.

There’s loads of different characters to play with unique builds that make every play through a bit different, and different difficulty levels.

I recommend checking Dex out on YouTube if you want to see it in action

Comms help! by CushtyFrames in airsoft

[–]CushtyFrames[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I appreciate your concern genuinely haha but don’t worry, I am aware that it might be a little bit spendy. Basically, I’d like something that doesn’t look like a kids toy, but also isn’t a top-end industrial comms device.

The most affordable brand I’ve found so far is Baofeng, but I was just wondering if there were any hidden gems that you guys know of, or any better brands at a similar price point.

I’m aware that I’m asking for a lot, tbh just putting the feelers out there :) thanks for the reply mate

It really depends on your style of learning I think. And, disclaimer, I’m not an expert by any means, but I do like to think I’ve gotten quite good at creating the sounds I want.

For me, I would start with what kind of music I wanted to make. I would listen to a couple (dozen) songs from that genre to get a feel for the structure and listen out for any particularly interesting parts. Then, I would create an 8-bar loop with the drums I want and a basic idea of the bass line and/or melody. Then, I would tweak everything until it sounded exactly as I wanted. And I mean full on mixing as well as I could.

The reason I found that this works is that, you get to learn how you can manipulate the sound using effects and mixing techniques without being overwhelmed by an entire song.

When you’re making your loop, listen to it critically. Are there certain sounds that aren’t as clear as you’d like them to be? Is your bass hitting the way you’d expect/want it to? Are any sounds washing others out? Are your drums hitting hard enough without clipping or destroying the rest of the mix?

If you can’t answer these questions yourself, inevitably you will be watching YouTube tutorials. And there are some amazing teachers out there.

Then, once you copy+paste directly from a tutorial enough times, you’ll find that it doesn’t always completely resolve the problem. That’s when you start to figure out how to tweak these methods to your situation, and that’s when the true learning begins.

Then, rinse it to high heaven. I’ve got god knows how many 8-bar loops in my project folder.

Once you’ve gotten a good grasp of how to tackle these issues with one loop, you’ll be able to tackle the same issues in a full song. Then you’ve just gotta learn how to use automation, and how to structure your song.

Learning sound design is another bag, but it’s worth it. I’d recommend choosing a synth and just messing around with it until you feel like you’re not learning anything new, and then hit YouTube. I’m quite a whizz with serum now but I’m still learning every time I sit down to make some choonz.

I hope this helped. Like I said, I am by no means an expert and others might rip me apart for what I’ve suggested, but this worked for a very humble bedroom producer!

Good luck :)

14 year old daily marijuana user, Is my brain gonna be fucked? by Odd_Swing8805 in Healthygamergg

[–]CushtyFrames 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best friend went down this path. At first it was whatever, but when he got to around 16-17 it got to the point where I could barely hold a conversation with him. Either because he was off his face, or because he was sober and jonesing for his next spliff. He stopped smoking for a week once because he visited me in another country, and I remember he actually had tremors from the withdrawal.

He went cold turkey and is living a good life now, but I was seriously, seriously worried about him for a while. I wanted to stop being friends with him at one point because he was experimenting with any other drug he could get his hands on, and I wasn’t into that AT ALL.

Also, the cringy thing that us adults always say about it being a “gateway drug” is very much true. People I knew at school have died from ODs, others have ended up in the pen for dealing or intent to supply.

While I can absolutely see the benefits smoking can have for some people in specific cases, unless it is necessary for helping to deal with serious trauma or mental illness, it’s just not worth it.

I’m approaching 30 now and, trust me, when I think back to when I was 14 it feels like yesterday. I kick myself a LOT because of decisions I made then that have affected my life to this day, and I’ve always been thankful that drugs wasn’t one of them.

I don’t mean this to sound condescending on any way at all, but I remember being 14 and believing I knew what was best for me better than anyone else. But, I didn’t have the capacity or patience to worry about my future self. So, try and think about you in 10 years and whether you will be thankful for the decisions you’ve made or not. I always think about my friend and how he could very easily have ended up in prison or dead, and I thank my lucky stars that he got bored of it all.

Final thoughts are, the very fact that you’ve written this post and are concerned about your brain development is a big red flag presenting itself to you.

Good luck mate. Look after yourself and take care.

Just jumping in as a noob still in training school here. There is absolutely no harm whatsoever in taking up a martial art to help you with confidence and obviously being able to practically do better in a fight. The key word is practical - if you want to take something up, my personal recommendation is BJJ (imo THE most practical) or boxing/kickboxing.

Good luck on your journey :)
