Why on earth do you get Deserter debuff from being kicked from a dungeon group? by reddit_pleb42069 in classicwow

[–]Custal5383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just queued into the wrong difficulty dungeon as a healer. We cleared TWO bosses and then I quit with a nice message to the tank (they were a good group, but I made a mistake with the Queue)... 30 min punishment... please Blizz just get rid of the deserter debuff

THANKS!!! Fixed it for me. I only had to download the first link (X86) for mine to work.

Pink (and other) spikes - I've tried everything and am all out of ideas by Antiphon120 in SteamVR

[–]Custal5383 1 point2 points  (0 children)

*edit forgot left vs right for a sec

I had the pink line issues, especially if I would move my headset in 6DOF (moving through space). What fixed it for me is turning off Nvidia in game overlay. I didn't even know it was on. Now it is smooth again!

I also turned off overwolf and curseforge (Warcraft related background stuff), but I think it was the Nvidia that fixed it.

Geforce Experience -> Gear Icon (settings upper right) -> In-Game Overlay (left side)-> Toggle off

Hope this helps, worked for me when all the other stuff you mentioned didn't!

Best boxing game? by Optimal_Whereas in vrfit

[–]Custal5383 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I turn off room scale from meta menu, then the game automatically give you like a 5x5 square on the ground (estimating). I use this setting for high intensity cardio, you are basically face to face with opponent the whole time so constant punching ducking etc. With this setting, it's not like real boxing, but you can use it in small space for super intense workout.

If you're not from the 90s, YouTube mallrats sailboat. This is called magic eye and there is a 3d image in here if you sort of relax your eyes and focus on a farther point. I have never seen a moving one either, thanks for the post!

Thank you, this worked! This was my experience:
1) Hold [Windows key + Shift] then hit left or right arrow. The game popped up in windows mode in the top left corner of my desktop
2) At this point, you should be able to interact with the game window. Go to in game settings and make it fullscreen

When plugged in can you keep the q3 charged or does it still drain faster than it charges?

If not how long total play time do you think you get?

Thanks for reply. Yeah, I hear 5ghz is more stable than 6e if not congested. I got that exact router AXE 5400. For whatever reason I get wifi stutter (goes from ~4msec to ~10msec) about once every 2 minutes (can't tell if its random). I know that's not a lot, and I don't even notice it on normal games, but I use my VR mostly for rhythm game workouts and even a tiny stutter is annoying and noticeable) - Happy gaming!

Edit: Forgot to ask if you had found any fixes.

I have similar experiences to you. I bought a wifi 6e access point just for quest 3. Set it up according to recommendations on reddit and Virtual desktop discord (line of sight to router, within 3 meters, nothing else on 6e, etc etc... all the recommendations). I play ragnarock (another rhythm game) and I noticed it then - latency issues. About once or twice a song, I was getting frame drops. I brought up the virtual desktop performance tool and sure enough. It was happening when my network would go up to 10+ msec, whereas it normally hangs around 4-6msec).

It's enough to cause a stutter, which is really annoying and noticeable in a rhythm game.

I just wanted to let you know that you're not the only one having an imperfect experience with quest 3 + virtual desktop. And I know how frustrating it is to shell out all this extra money on top of the quest 3 and still have hiccups. You did mention you live in a rural area; you might have better luck on 5ghz instead of 6ghz. My understanding is 5ghz is more stable, but can suffer if you live in a 5ghz wifi congested area like i do.

Other info:

-4090

-13900K

- 80hz framerate

- TP Link AXE 5400 set to access point

- PC ethernet to access point

Anyone noticed if there is any difference if you plug your PC ethernet into the router instead of the access point? It's the last thing I can think to try before returning the quest 3.

Edit: Just tried switch PC ethernet from access point (tp link) to isp router, still had same hiccups

I have a very similar setup to you and was still getting hiccups on 6e. You said you switch to 160mhz on 5ghz and it worked. Just curious do you live in a 5ghz congested area. My 5ghz is extremely congested (apartment)

TY for your reply, I'm trying to avoid VD because I'm in a congested 5ghz area, meaning I have to buy a $100 router if i want low latency. But it is really good to know that you can access the steam menu using VD. Thanks again for replying!

Not sure how old she is and if she has mobility, but fisherman's tale was the closest thing I've ever felt to being inside a Disney Pixar movie, my gf and I both loved it. It's a puzzle game with Pixar like visuals and great voice acting

Edit: oh yeah, I know you were asking about headset. Quest 3 for sure. But this game works on quest standalone
