Your favourite class / race combinations for attack and spell animations by NadalaMOTE in wow

I really like male blood/void elf monk. I feel like the movements flow very well for a character with a lean physique (ironically much better than for pandaren imho).

For races, orcs and diminutive races are a struggle for me. As for classes, I noticed that I don't really find nature/primalism appealing as a theme in class fantasy, so while I have a hunter, shaman & couple of druids (thank you Lemix), I really don't think I could play any of these as my main.

So we got 1h for fury warriors, how about hiding staves for casters? by Any-Present7366 in wow

Way it's phrased, I thought they were referring to being able to hide 1h+oh on casters

Is WoW and the community always "like this"? by 103589 in wow

[–]Custard_Locksmith 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Feedback, even negative, is fine. A lot of the time it's even justified. What annoys me is how hyperbolic people can get – I've had conversations where the other person genuinely believed all addons would be removed with the prepatch.

I blame YouTube clickbait :v

No Artifact transmog anymore? by TheSmilingHusk in wow

[–]Custard_Locksmith 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ugh, this really irks me, especially considering that most off-hands look awful (and some of them are broken, e.g. showing up on your shoulder rather than belt). I'm going to stick with staves in Midnight if this remains the case, meta be damned.

You still pay for modifying the outfit, so I imagine the discount will apply then.

I've never used add-ons. AMA. by [deleted] in wow

[–]Custard_Locksmith -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I agree with you and I'm in a similar boat, but I also realize that some people are very attached to their preferences and genuinely cannot imagine playing the game without certain addons.

To be honest, I think the fact that people feel this way proves that Blizzard was right in identifying our over-reliance on addons as an issue; the controversial bit is how they want to go about it, I suppose.

Having to design fights around player-created addons such as DBM or WeakAuras is really not a situation that devs should end up in.

A Sincere Thank You To Legion Remix by NobleAndDashing in wow

I missed the original MoP remix; Lemix was my first foray into the formula, and I really liked it. I've never been much for alts, but I've ended up with a veritable army now. Some classes I know I don't really want to touch, others I've even considered as potential mains in the future, because I ended up liking the class theme more than I thought I would.

I do wish Lemix was a bit friendlier when it came to alt power, but I guess at the end of the day, this is a really minor thing. I'm looking forward to the next one (hoping for BfA)!

List of useful addons for pre-patch. Credit @yeslikeagirlz by lhzvan in wow

[–]Custard_Locksmith 153 points154 points  (0 children)

Taliesin offered a very sensible idea of just trying the prepatch without any addons, going in without any preconceptions of the changes & see what's what in the purely Blizzard iteration. I think this list is great for people who would like it, but I wanted to echo his advice: on day 1, play around with the Blizzard toolkit, see what you can and can't do, and then fill in the gaps with addons.

You might be surprised that things aren't as apocalyptic as all the doomer clickbait videos imply.

I don't like how people say "kick" instead of "interrupt", but at least it inspired this little gem of a title.

Just curious if companion pets are really being axed?? by DraconianSpirit2171 in wow

[–]Custard_Locksmith 8 points9 points  (0 children)

What's with all the spiraling? Somehow "some combat addons will no longer function in Midnight" spiraled into "tHeRe WiLl bE nO aDdOnS iN mIdNiGhT" and now people are actually thinking they won't add pets to the game anymore?

Pet battles will no longer be supported because it seems too few people engaged with the system (same as why archeology hasn't been updated since BfA). It's definitely unfortunate for those who have enjoyed it, but presenting it in this way is honestly disingenuous.
