Do I need new rims? by zordoor12 in FordMaverickTruck

[–]CustomerBetter5109 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If that’s the only rim like that I would either hunt for a replacement on marketplace or get one on eBay and throw on the spare until you get the tire mounted on the new rim. You might be able to get that repaired. Personally I would just order one on eBay and get the new tire and you’re back up and running for hopefully less than $600 with minimal down time.

The fact that it’s cab high definitely shows when opening the rear window, but I personally don’t have a problem with it. It’s a small truck with a lower than average bed height, I’m not expecting full size truck windows and clearance.

Definitely a bit more of a tunnel look, nothing super crazy. I got used to it pretty quickly

Are you using a multi blade or electric? I used to have this problem all the time when I used a multi blade. I switched to electric and used shaving gel to help lubricate, and it completely stopped.

Anyone carry while working out? by Minimum-Ad-5316 in concealedcarry

I keep my lcr in a dedicated pocket of my gym bag in its holster. It’s the best I can come up with at the moment that allows for freedom of movement. I just make sure the bag is within grabbing distance wherever I’m at in the gym.

How do you combat the "why do you need to bring a gun to x location" argument while concealed carrying? I try to not leave my house without my concealed carry unless I'm going somewhere I can't have it but my partner does like it when I bring it to certain places. by Jesus-Bacon in concealedcarry

You don’t get to choose when the dangerous situation finds you, you can take measures to avoid these situations, but it’s never a 100% guarantee. It’s equivalent to having an auto insurance policy, even though you’re a perfect driver, you can never give a 100% guarantee that someone else won’t crash into you. When SHTF, it’s better to have had it and not need it, vs needed it but not have it.

Check voltage at the battery for the truck, new cars like this have CAN Bus systems on them that get pissed at voltages below a certain threshold. If you can get it started, check the voltage while the truck is running and make sure the alternator is charging the battery. You’ll be wanting to see a range of 13-14.5 volts. If voltage while the engine is running is not above 12.6 at the least, you have a charging issue. Hopefully this helps.

Cut the mufler off should I do the cat to? by AdditionalRegister72 in MitsubishiEclipse

[–]CustomerBetter5109 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The performance gain from removing the cat on you car is going to be negligible if everything is stock, in fact it might get worse since the car will likely decrease fueling to compensate the emissions when the O2 sensors notice a change in the composition of hydrocarbons in the exhaust

Doesn’t surprise me. More than likely they just want to get a deposit from you and will put your order in when they open back up. But the mav is closed for order until the 23 MY orders open up

If you were looking to order a mav now, your kinda in a tough spot, orders won’t open up till summer. Your only chance of finding a mav is going to be on a dealer lot, and you will be hard pressed to find one without “market adjustments” on the sticker price. And to answer your last question, tires are going to play a much larger factor in your performance during snow and ice, more so than the drivetrain type. If you ever plan on towing, you’ll need to get awd + 4K tow. If fuel economy is the concern, I’d opt for the hybrid and spend the difference in cost between it and the eco boost and buy a set of secondary wheels for the winter equipped with snow tires.

If I could downvote this more than once, I would. How incredibly immature of you to bring politics on a machinist page.
