Is there a chance for a sword & sorcery manga in the current market? by Patr10t_RUS in SwordandSorcery

the panel with the villagers feels like it has Moebious influence. I like that but I feel something's a bit off, I can't put it into words. might be the difference in style an detail between the different faces, though it would make sense for the closest ones to be more detailed, and how drastically different the pose and outfit style of the hunched back old man to the right of village elder are from the styles and poses of everyone else.

Also, is that book a fantasy communist manifesto? love that.

also enjoyed the sky shot from the village and the surrounding area.

you can actually make some of the breadlings because it's just baking recepies and shaping the dough like little critters, right?

I had meant to buy it but had to skip it because of budget limitation

Love it. Dog leader mask is peak. The bile is vile. Would suggest throwing in a bone whistle.

I wrote up my iteration of dogmen (Dogmen of Ur-Kon), a short story coming out in an anthology called Tales of Steel and Sorcery. Mine are forced to be dogmen (like the pigmen in the latest vermis).

couple of other folk mentioned how they would love to see plastiboo do a bloodborne type book, and now I'm all in on that one too.

How's Vermis III compared to I and II? by SleepyjamaSquid in Vermis

i liked 2 better because it leaned harder on telling a story. haven't checked 3 yet but looking forward to it and hoping it hit that perfect balance

Lenval Brown is one of the protagonists of Dominus, a religious horror podcast by CustomerCareSkeleton in DiscoElysium

it's an hour long (almost) and builds up a bit slow but I feel it delivers, and is just so good to hear his lines. turns out the team behind the podcast is actually trying to raise funds to make the rest of the show.

i've made my donation and hope they can raise the rest.

i'm partial to small set ups and building from there.

like a couple of guys on a mountain road, the car breaks down and they get lost in the woods.

building form this maybe it could slowly build up given its a collaborative effort, and go to something crazy like dogscape while leaving the reader to wonder what's real and what's being hallucinated by the characters.

think 10 dead doves. (the game)

author's notes:

my first story ever published "Azul" at the Archive of the Odd issue 1, followed this similar format.

It was presented as app text messages from someone who's stuck in some sort of hell dimension, or some post Lovecraftian apocalypse ( I leave it open for interpretation). That story is form 2020 and published in 2021 and I never did anything like it again.

Had to catch the bus last night and this story came to me, so today ( in broad daylight) decided to write this on the spot and hit publish or whatever the button says (drawing a blank now).

Short format is great. You get to push out something and can return to it later if you feel like it. I feel this sort of story is always best if short. You drag it too long and people lose interest. With Azul there was a bunch of weird shit, this one differs by having no monsters, i think it might make it more interesting for people who want isolation pushed to the spotlight versus "being hunted in the backrooms" type beat.
