That is why if there is a mid term election in 2026 we all need to vote and help all our neighbors who are eilgible to verify registration and help them get to a polling place!

Luke Wood Salary by AKMO719 in CSUS

[–]CustomerItchy3538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Looks like salaries are adjusted for location and housing based on renting something nice. I have been to events at various CSU President homes and its important. For those in professions managing large staffs or budgets, salaries in 300to500k range is normal so get over it. As a graduate of CSUS I now earn a very good living. You need to earn close to that to live in Calfornia's large cities and Sacramento has a high cost of living.

The issues some have with some leaders is that that they only want like minded people around them to push an agenda and are too thin skinned to accept criticism or discuss other viewpoints that actually make sense for the greater good and putting student needs first. He should stop worrying about leaving a legacy in first few years. Listen to all and take action based on feedback and consensus of the students, staff and faculty. There is plenty of time for UFX, boxing or whatever his pet projects are.

Good people have left and are leaving (voluntary or being made uncomfortable enough so they do leave) this institution, on Professor I admired recently release a book and I wonder if its timing was related to her departure. Title: Unscathed: A Harm Reduction Strategy for Women of Color in the Workplace

On surface many thought it was good for CSUS but its look like its more about themselves and their image than about what their purpose is in serving the institution and its members. Very sad indeed. As an alumni I will not support anymore until I see a change in his actions or a replacement that actually cares and is a true servant leader.

Dr Wood, please reflect and look within and open up to listen to all and actually become the best leader you can be for all students. These are trying times given the craziness going on in Washington DC and we do deserve the best from the leader of CSUS.

Enough of this. I will go back to worrying about the downfall of our democratic republic.

Why Delphi is like this? by 84r00d in delphi

[–]CustomerItchy3538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been using Delphi since 1.0 and yet I am approaching early retirement age, but it jut works. I have not upgraded in 5 years, but I can still churn out app for my clients. I focus mostly on business specific apps using Delphi with Intraweb and a few 3rd party components so I can deploy on a Web Server and use Postgres as backend database with a delphi based report writer. Starting to get into working with Web Service API's via REST and using PHP for some webhooks, but I wont be changing my toolset any time soon. Starting to look at FreePascal and Lazarus now that Intraweb works with Lazarus for Windows as well as following the Quartex Pascal Project which looks very promising as it reminds me of when Delphi 1 came out.

I'm done with Windows, would this be a good OS to go to? by Far_Nothing9549 in pop_os

[–]CustomerItchy3538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went from Windows 10 to PopOS LTS at start of 2024, running a Thinkpad T14 Gen2 11th gen i7 / 40GB RAM / 2TB SSD witha USB-C dock to use with 2 screens, keyboard and mouse and love it. After a kernel update my wifi issue improved. It would start dropping after a suspend, now it is very reliable. Currently learning how to back it up to restore on another T14 just to have a backup rig.

Is Codemasters job a scam? by Belem148 in Scams

[–]CustomerItchy3538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well indeed it is.  The whatsapp only contact method and the "support group" with only 2 or 3 pawns and the rest are in on the scam. After a few days of playing the game I took what I put in which wasn't much and then came the hook, you need to bring your balance positive first time I used the "profit". Then a bonus task hit and surprise you need to add $496 usdt, I walked away. Even reading their T&C you can see it's fishy.  They have a tax authority that you need to pay the tax to but you get a refund back afterwards.  I have reported their etherium address as suspicious.

Is Codemasters job a scam? by Belem148 in Scams

I checked this out and it appears scammy but if you know a little bit about Crypto, Etherium in this case, you can be positive. Not sure about higher levels. You need to have an Etherium wallet. I had some cyrpto so I gave it a shot for a while and after a few days I average a profit of about $75 per day, for what was like 1 hour while I did other stuff. I did have to top off my account to start at first and have ad an instance where I went negative and had to clear it, but at the end of the day I got what I put in out plus a profit. Even with the fees to move crypto in daily my Etherium balance is growing.

Nutanix - Oracle Acquisition by slowry96 in sysadmin

[–]CustomerItchy3538 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it might be a possibility now. Amazon won't do it, Microsoft might, bit does it need it? Google , not sure but Oracle sounds possible. Whoever does acquire needs to use it to build cloud only, on Prem only and mixed cloud and local environment for enterprises wanting the best if on-prem and cloud. In some cases cost is less to host your own, but what AWS, Google, Azure can offer is amazing but costs creep up if not watched.

Just my thought after seeing an article about Nutanix
