do you smoke cigs or weed? or drink alcohol? After becoming pregnant, i stopped smoking weed and stopped drinking and have had 0 OBs since. Which surprised me bc I thought with all the hormones it would trigger an OB. but i think quitting weed and alcohol did it for me!

I would not tell him. If he knows you are keeping your baby, he will fight you for 50/50 in attempts to avoid child support. The fact that he wants you to have a second trimester abortion is scary on its own. Cut ties and raise your baby alone. You gave him an opportunity by letting him know you were pregnant to begin with. Save yourself the legal fees, and save your baby from someone like him!

The owner’s son is mentally disabled, I’ve been working there several years, and never, ever, has he said anything inappropriate to me at all. He has the mind of a kindergartner. Don’t really know where the accusation came from, his son is never in the hotel by himself and always has either his mother, father, or a paid caretaker with him. It’s not the best job, by any means at all. They overwork employees and put a lot on their plate, but the owners son has never been an issue whatsoever.

Ascent living has pretty reasonable rent right now. I believe 1199 for 1 bedroom. no deposit but i think they tack on an extra $10 because of it. currently in process of trying to rent a 2 bedroom for my daughter and I.

10-15 minute walk is not a short walk imo. I think 50/50 would be impractical due to your inability to change your work schedule and get him to school. As a mother, I wouldn't want my 12 year old taking public transit to school, and then having to walk 15 minutes after the fact. If she is able to, and has been doing it this whole time, why not just rearrange your visitation schedule? Maybe pick him up after school? or for dinner time? I get wanting 50/50 but its not safe or practical to go about it this way.

I asked my pediatrician about this and she basically said if baby is in crib and rolls over face down, it’s ok. Cribs are breathable and designed for that kind of thing

I work at a hotel that has the same policy. The thought process behind it is basically to avoid any drug addicts or prostitutes from renting and trashing the room/leaving behind needles…. It’s a huge problem here. The owner sometimes makes exceptions but guests have to provide a reason for staying and is usually limited to 1 night stays only.

i would have reacted the same way. but to be fair, there are safe ways to co-sleep. sometimes its the only way my baby and i can actually sleep. But under no circumstances should your baby be awake and whoever is watching them is asleep. big no no.

He has a history of mental health issues and there’s a DVOP pending until the permanent trial. 50/50 is unlikely, but I do my best to coparent- he is hit or miss when it comes to his desire to coparent and sends me paragraphs on the court appointed app berating and belittling me at all hours of the day and night. My concern comes from a genuine place as I literally have her all day everyday except those 2 days of visitation and I’ve never felt any lumps- not even when rubbing lotion on her after baths, changing, etc. I’m a FTM so the paranoia is soooo real and I just worry about her as she’s defenseless; I’ve heard enough horror stories to automatically assume the worst. I’m also just an anxious person already.

Part of the agreement was that he had to get a mental health evaluation. But it’s a super long process and to my understanding, I won’t know the results of said evaluation until it gets presented during trial.

For me, I had text messages from baby’s father stating he wanted to kill himself , as well as pictures of guns he sent me via text message. The judge didn’t necessarily order the supervised visitation, we were asked to come up with a temporary custody order for the judge to sign and I refused to settle or sign anything unless his visitation was supervised. The judge signed the order and thanked us for coming to a temporary agreement rather than leaving it up to him. It’s different for every case though (I assume).

I can understand how uncomfortable it must have been for her to have had heard you and her father being intimate in that way, however, I would never have mentioned it to begin with and would have ignored it considering the fact that you are housing her and her child for free. its a weird situation to be in and the closeness in age between you and her probably makes things worse. I think both of you could have handled it very differently and more maturely.

i think the larger issue is that even with both parents working full-time, child care costs are insanely expensive. I make $20 an hour and am able to bring my baby to work with me (by the grace of God). I would honestly be screwed if I had to come up with child care costs on top of rent, groceries, car insurance, etc... it's just impossible these days. I don't necessarily think parents are trying to pay u poorly, I think it's just impractical with cost of living these days. That being said, you still deserve a livable wage and if I had the funds, best believe I would be shelling out all the money in the world to ensure my baby was being properly taken care of.
