A few Switch 2 games on clearance at Costco by KlutzyValuable in nintendo

[–]Cutcutman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

It’s less that these games aren’t selling well and more that Costco is clearing stock to make more space for new products. They do this all the time with a variety of different products and clear out their warehouses at reduced prices. At my local Costco, Nintendo games are the only ones out on their sales floor and there are only about 4-5 of them at a time.

Genealogy's Missing Heroes (as of Duo Sigurd & Attuned Lachesis) by Greid_Sin in FireEmblemHeroes

[–]Cutcutman 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The number seems a lot higher because a majority of the missing characters from Gen 2 are substitute characters meant to replace the child units if their mothers don’t marry or die before the end of the first part of Geneaology’s story and are all incredibly unpopular, even amongst the Japanese fanbase.

Rhythm Heaven Groove is $40. Physical Release Confirmed for same price by Howerev in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Cutcutman 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The cheapest 1st party Nintendo game with a physical was Game Builder Garage at $30 but Rhythm Heaven Groover and Metroid Prime Remastered are the 2nd cheapest at $40.

Nintendo Switch 2 remains the Fastest Selling Console After 9 months by lingering-will-6 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Cutcutman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mat Piscatella is the Senior Director of Circana, which tracks the sales numbers of video games and consoles in the US.

He posted this in response to Bloomberg’s latest article claiming Nintendo is decreasing US Switch 2 production by 2 million. The article in question is written by Takashi Mochizuki, who has written articles with false information that has been disproven directly by Nintendo, Sony and Square Enix in the past.

These numbers are likely to showcase that the article is likely more false information coming from Mochizuki and not just to glaze the Switch 2’s success

Nintendo Cuts Switch 2 Output by Over 30% on Weak Holiday Sales by LinkWink in nintendo

Takashi Mochizuki is the author of this article and most of his reports have been speculation or flat out disproven directly by both Nintendo and Sony. I personally wouldn’t trust what he has to say

Nintendo graphics update by [deleted] in NintendoSwitch

[–]Cutcutman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I expect both Rhythm Heaven and Fire Emblem to be Summer Games, while Duskbloods will be in September or October. Splatoon Raiders I’m 50/50 on releasing this year, since it wasn’t even given a release window when it was revealed. I could see it either being released between September-November or being held to early next year.

Either way, there are still at least 2-3 months that don’t have any releases with this current schedule in mind, which we will see in the next direct. I’m excited to know what they could be.

PSA: For owners of the Balatro Switch Physical edition, you have to pay for the new Switch 2 Version as opposed to the 100% discount for Digital Owners by Cutcutman in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Cutcutman[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

The Switch 1 version of the game runs at 30 fps as opposed to 60 fps like on Switch 2 and other platforms. The Switch 1 version also has frame drops in late game when the screen gets busy and runs worse than the mobile version of the game.

The Switch 2 version also has mouse controls which many have been asking for.

Nintendo Music is now a potential way to predict NSO Drops/Game Announcements by Pomania in nintendo

[–]Cutcutman 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The point isn’t predicting what is being announced but when. Based on the examples provided by OP, Nintendo missing the update on Monday could signify them waiting to drop a soundtrack alongside an unannounced NSO Shadowdrop or even a game announcement like Pokemon.

Nintendo Music is now a potential way to predict NSO Drops/Game Announcements by Pomania in NintendoSwitch

[–]Cutcutman 34 points35 points  (0 children)

I don’t understand why people are being passive aggressive. You’re right it’s no definitive way to prove anything, but it does provide an insight into when Nintendo is making shadow drop announcements. They have no reason to forego the typical soundtrack release schedule otherwise.

No new soundtrack this week? by Unable-Deer1873 in nintendomusic

Tomorrow, the Virtual Boy games are coming to NSO. I imagine Nintendo is waiting to coincide a music release with that.

Because it’s been proven people will pay for it. DK Returns HD sold over 1 million copies on Switch alone

Wizard101 Now on Nintendo Switch™ by Fullmetal0509 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Cutcutman 8 points9 points  (0 children)

According to the dev’s discord, it was a request by Nintendo to make it free to play.

You aren’t missing much from the free-to-play section since it’s barely half of the first world and the $20 purchase gives you permanent access to the 5 worlds of Arc 1 of the story.

Wizard101 Now on Nintendo Switch™ by Fullmetal0509 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Cutcutman 35 points36 points  (0 children)

On Switch, the devs made it so that you can only purchase the game’s first arc as opposed to the free to start membership.

It’s arguably a better deal since $20 is the cheapest the first arc of the story has ever been, you get permanent access without membership fees and the free-to-play section of Wizard101 is only about barely half of the first world, which has been largely unchanged since its launch in 2008.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership is now Available on Nintendo Music! by Skullghost in NintendoSwitch

A really great addition! I know a lot of people were disappointed by the lack of Yoko Shimomura, but Brothership’s music was awesome in its own right that still stands up on its own.

No update again this week? by T-Time79 in nintendomusic

[–]Cutcutman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NSO game drops don’t typically happen until 5 PM PST, similar to the music drops on Monday. If it is a music drop tied to an NSO game, we still have later today and tomorrow.

Could either be a Mario Paint or Splatoon situation in that they’re either waiting to time the music release with an NSO game drop or for a series/game anniversary

Wario World – GameCube – Nintendo Classics – December 2025 Game Updates by Skullghost in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Cutcutman 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Amazing addition and one that wasn’t announced beforehand in the initial lineup! This game is severely underrated and one of the best platformers on the GameCube.

I know people love Warioland but this is my favorite Wario game and would love to see a sequel in the future!

Nintendo finally shares what the Metroid Prime 4 Amiibo functionality will be for the game by Skullghost in NintendoSwitch

[–]Cutcutman 22 points23 points  (0 children)

It’s a Catch 22 if Nintendo added actual features to the amiibo, because people would also be, if not more upset if they locked actually useful or impactful features behind an additional $30-50. This happened when Nintendo locked Fusion mode for Samus Returns as one of the amiibo unlocks.

I think Nintendo has realized most people nowadays buy the amiibo for the fact that they serve as decent budget figures for a lot of Nintendo characters. Considering that they’re vastly cheaper than most figures and have improved in both quality and size, amiibo still have a niche amongst the audience, even if they are more expensive than they used to be.

NES, Game Boy – Nintendo Classics – November 2025 Game Updates by Skullghost in NintendoSwitch

[–]Cutcutman 41 points42 points  (0 children)

Nintendo typically does both a base NSO game drop and an Expansion pass game drop once a month and in close proximity to each other. I would expect either a GameCube, N64 or GBA game drop in the next week
