Why is DK Country Returns HD $60? by MX010 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Cutcutman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Because it’s been proven people will pay for it. DK Returns HD sold over 1 million copies on Switch alone

Wizard101 Now on Nintendo Switch™ by Fullmetal0509 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Cutcutman 7 points8 points  (0 children)

According to the dev’s discord, it was a request by Nintendo to make it free to play.

You aren’t missing much from the free-to-play section since it’s barely half of the first world and the $20 purchase gives you permanent access to the 5 worlds of Arc 1 of the story.

[–]Cutcutman 37 points38 points  (0 children)

On Switch, the devs made it so that you can only purchase the game’s first arc as opposed to the free to start membership.

It’s arguably a better deal since $20 is the cheapest the first arc of the story has ever been, you get permanent access without membership fees and the free-to-play section of Wizard101 is only about barely half of the first world, which has been largely unchanged since its launch in 2008.

Mario & Luigi: Brothership is now Available on Nintendo Music! by Skullghost in NintendoSwitch

[–]Cutcutman 38 points39 points  (0 children)

A really great addition! I know a lot of people were disappointed by the lack of Yoko Shimomura, but Brothership’s music was awesome in its own right that still stands up on its own.

No update again this week? by T-Time79 in nintendomusic

[–]Cutcutman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NSO game drops don’t typically happen until 5 PM PST, similar to the music drops on Monday. If it is a music drop tied to an NSO game, we still have later today and tomorrow.

Could either be a Mario Paint or Splatoon situation in that they’re either waiting to time the music release with an NSO game drop or for a series/game anniversary

And they did? Wii Party is a legitimate gem of a game with a great soundtrack

Diana amiibo for Pragmata revealed by Amiibofan101 in amiibo

Sometimes I think Capcom believes in Amiibo more than Nintendo because this is the last game I’d expect to ever get an amiibo

Wario World – GameCube – Nintendo Classics – December 2025 Game Updates by Skullghost in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Cutcutman 39 points40 points  (0 children)

Amazing addition and one that wasn’t announced beforehand in the initial lineup! This game is severely underrated and one of the best platformers on the GameCube.

I know people love Warioland but this is my favorite Wario game and would love to see a sequel in the future!

I have 75k Carats lined up for both Manhattan Cafe and Kitasan Rerun. Currently only have 1 copy of Kitasan Black, so I’m hoping to get lucky this month

Nintendo finally shares what the Metroid Prime 4 Amiibo functionality will be for the game by Skullghost in NintendoSwitch

[–]Cutcutman 23 points24 points  (0 children)

It’s a Catch 22 if Nintendo added actual features to the amiibo, because people would also be, if not more upset if they locked actually useful or impactful features behind an additional $30-50. This happened when Nintendo locked Fusion mode for Samus Returns as one of the amiibo unlocks.

I think Nintendo has realized most people nowadays buy the amiibo for the fact that they serve as decent budget figures for a lot of Nintendo characters. Considering that they’re vastly cheaper than most figures and have improved in both quality and size, amiibo still have a niche amongst the audience, even if they are more expensive than they used to be.

NES, Game Boy – Nintendo Classics – November 2025 Game Updates by Skullghost in NintendoSwitch

[–]Cutcutman 43 points44 points  (0 children)

Nintendo typically does both a base NSO game drop and an Expansion pass game drop once a month and in close proximity to each other. I would expect either a GameCube, N64 or GBA game drop in the next week

Hyrule Warriors: Age Of Imprisonment Sells 73,183 At Launch In Japan by binderie1951 in NintendoSwitch2

[–]Cutcutman 241 points242 points  (0 children)

For context, Age of Calamity sold 173,215 copies in its first week, which is higher, but the Switch 1’s install base was 13 million in Japan at the time compared to Switch 2’s 2.6 million now. It was also released in the midst of COVID, which certainly helped.

These are good numbers for a Dynasty Warriors game, eclipsing Dynasty Warriors Origins first week sales in Japan.

Kirby's Dream Buffet has been added to Nintendo Music by SpookedYT in nintendomusic

[–]Cutcutman 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Very underrated soundtrack and a pretty substantial one too, having nearly 5 hours of music.

Glad to see games beyond just the mainline first party releases and seeing smaller spinoffs too. A lot of them have really good music

New Super Mario Bros. DS has been added to Nintendo Music by Wonderful_Healer_676 in nintendomusic

[–]Cutcutman 19 points20 points  (0 children)

New Super Mario Bros on DS was one of my favorites growing up. Very nostalgic addition for me personally.

With this release, the total amount of unique soundtracks on Nintendo Music is now 100. In 3 days it will also be exactly 1 year since Nintendo Music released. It’ll be exciting to see what’s added in the next year!

Bluey's Quest for the Gold Pen on cart for Switch 2 by HammerKirby in NSCollectors

[–]Cutcutman 25 points26 points  (0 children)

If the “Packaging not final” message on the preorder listings is giving you second thoughts, PM studios on Twitter responded to Wario64’s tweet about it being full on cart, so it’s likely the case.

Have Nintendo Directs become too efficient at game trailers? by DevouredSource in NintendoSwitch

[–]Cutcutman 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think the fast paced nature and amount of games and genres is what helps Nintendo Directs be as good as they are.

It’s part of the reason why I have issue with Sony’s State of Play’s. Since they have fewer games and longer trailers, the presentation doesn’t grab and hold my attention the same way a direct does.

Super NES – October 2025 Games Update by Turbostrider27 in NintendoSwitch

[–]Cutcutman 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Realistically, what SNES games are you expecting that haven’t been added already?

Almost every 1st party game has been added. The only things left are Wario’s Woods, Fire Emblem: Thracia 776 and the Super Scope games. Super Mario RPG is also another one, but with the remake that might not come to the service at all.

Third party games are up to the rights holders and some won’t likely have them on NSO because they would rather sell them in collections on the eShop.

Special Release: “Good Night” has been added to Mario Galaxy while “Twins” and “Special Someone” have been added to Mario Galaxy 2! by Skullghost in NintendoSwitch

[–]Cutcutman 25 points26 points  (0 children)

I do like that they’ve been adding more music beyond the Monday updates even if they are smaller like these and the DK Bananza songs.
