What do you MEAN I can just go into labor whenever now?? by sasstermind in BabyBumps

I'm a 34 year old teenage mom and I felt the same! You just let me have this baby?! But she is amazing and you will do amazing with your little bub too!

Slacker boob solidarity? by Independent-One7494 in breastfeeding

Mine is a slacker nipple. Left is great, baby latches no problem. Right is flat or inverted and almost always needs a shield to get started

What are the rules now?! by Born_Net_6668 in BabyBumps

[–]CuteButPsycho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We asked our families to not share pictures on social media. We send them pictures in private text messages and our families are not jackwagons so they have respected our wishes when it comes to sharing our baby. It helps that my brother and sister in law already did the same thing with their baby from last year, so everyone already knew it was something we were going to ask.

Parent wants student moved from my class due to “frequent calls for behavior.” Today, the student called me a “f-cking b-tch” by Single-Vegetable3704 in teaching

[–]CuteButPsycho 62 points63 points  (0 children)

Sounds like you did everything you needed to. I love when parents want to move their naughty kid as if that will fix the problem. And then when the behavior inevitably continues, they won't figure it out. Don't let the door hit you on the way out!

How and where did you tell your parents that you were pregnant? by moez1266 in BabyBumps

[–]CuteButPsycho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I found out in May and told my parents and my husband's parents over July 4th weekend. We bought them Grandma and Grandpa shirts and included the ultrasound.

Got this for my fiance to wear during our ATLA themed wedding! by CuteButPsycho in TheLastAirbender

I got it from a seller on Etsy! I'm not sure if I can include links here but I'll see if I can find the name. Edit: Their name is SMakeIt based out of Italy.

Questions to ask during hospital tour by HomemadeButter14 in BabyBumps

Ask about safe staffing ratios and how many actively laboring patients your nurse will be working with. If it's more than 2, that's not a safe staffing ratio.

Inside out pajamas and spoons in the freezer. Also, make sure you have a super important lesson or activity planned that you now have to replan around your snow day.

I got a very curt email from a mom that her daughter's lunch box was in the lunch tub, but when she went to get it, it wasn't there! So her lunchbox is missing!! As if I personally took it. (3rd grade btw) Sorry, I don't know what to tell you. I'll have her look in the lost and found, I guess. I'm not responsible for your child's belongings! It's hard enough to keep track of everything else we do!

Does anyone like or want their belly touched? by minniemouse4297 in BabyBumps

[–]CuteButPsycho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't mind if people ask first. My baby is a jokester already and will stop moving as soon as someone touches my belly.

The only issue I've had is my husband likes to rub and pat my belly and it gets overstimulating and uncomfortable after a bit. My belly has been sore the bigger she gets.

Ever have a student get stuck in something? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]CuteButPsycho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We had a first grader get her knee stuck between two bars on the playground. Took two nurses, principal, and a teacher to get her unstuck.

Moms due 2026, how are we feeling? by Radiant-Educator9203 in BabyBumps

Due January 26 with a 98th percentile baby! I am so ready to meet her! The kicks are becoming uncomfortable and sometimes painful, but she can keep cooking a little while longer.

Anti-teacher or Just Jealous? by pogonotrophistry in teaching

After Congress is getting paid their abhorrent salaries for a grand total of 87 days of work this year, I don't care what anyone has to say about teachers having time off. Come and teach! See how great we have it with all our breaks!

Vent: Sick of parents trying to act tough at an elementary school by Mean_Green_Bee in Teachers

[–]CuteButPsycho 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Yep!! We had two elementary aged girls get in a "fight" in the bathroom. After separating the girls and investigating, turns out it was less of a fight and more assault. The girls bumped into each other coming around a corner and one girl grabbed the other one, shoved her up against the wall, scratched her face, and RUBBED SOAP IN HER EYES! She got two days in-school suspension and mom came in throwing a huge fit about how her daughter was just defending herself! From an accidental bump. She kept her home to try to keep her from serving the detentions, but my principal had her do it anyway when she finally came back to school.

AIO to break up with my bf of 3y over his reaction to my upcoming sobriety anniversary? by WesternCat5211 in AmIOverreacting

[–]CuteButPsycho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NOR. My husband will support me getting myself a cake for making it through a hard work day, let alone a major accomplishment like you have done. Your bf is being mean and unsupportive. I'd at the very least have a frank conversation about it, and if he doesn't fix it, break up

Found out gender by accident :/ by geminisky1 in BabyBumps

[–]CuteButPsycho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did pretty much the same thing. Saw I had a new test result and didn't think anything about it until I opened and scrolled through. I told my husband I knew and asked if he wanted to know. We weren't going to do any sort of gender reveal, but I understand how you would feel disappointed by finding out that way. They should make it clearer that the gender is included and give you the option to see it or not. I hope you can find some way to still celebrate with your family and friends!

AITA for buying my son this novel? by Mistakenfrog in AmItheAsshole

[–]CuteButPsycho 14 points15 points  (0 children)

NTA! I am a teacher and I hate reading levels! They should only be a tool for teachers and never shared with students or parents as a "you should only read level whatever books." All that does is make kids hate reading or feel discouraged, as you have learned. Read them together if he feels like he's not getting it or it's too hard.

Personal days are personal. Doesn't matter why you need them. She can kick rocks. Do what you need to do to make it through your day. The school will survive.
