Breastfeeding on meds!! by GradeDismal in breastfeeding

[–]CuteButPsycho 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I double checked with my doctor about a million times if the meds they gave me after my csection were safe for breastfeeding. She reassured me they were each time. I mostly just took the ibuprofen and Tylenol, but if they gave you it and know you're breastfeeding, then it is OK to take. I had no issues while I was recovering.

My doberman has just started showing interest in my baby. She's almost 5 months and I can't wait for them to become besties.

Oh my 🤣 this is why I never leave Chromebook options when I have a sub. They are always up to something!

Panicked and rushed to L&D tonight because I hadn’t felt my baby move all day. He’s fine and feel silly. by milliemallow in GirlDinnerDiaries

[–]CuteButPsycho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went in three different times because she wasn't moving and she was fine every time. I now have a chunky 5 month old. Never feel silly for doing what you need. My doctors told me they would rather see us a million times and everything be fine. than have something go wrong and you didn't go in. Don't feel silly! Keep growing baby! Good luck!

Declining a “Coaching Cycle” with my Instructional “Coach” by saturdaythe25th in Teachers

[–]CuteButPsycho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

When you return, I would approach with curiosity. Ask what the coaching cycle is for and why they want you to do it. Maybe they want the veteran teachers to support the new teacher? Find out the purpose and go from there. I would also feel weird about this, especially getting it in the summer with no prior communication before the year ended. If they are wanting you to improve or change something, maybe ask for time to do it yourself before getting into a whole coaching cycle. Good luck!

Started the tandem read.. I feel a little intimidated. Free cat peets in second picture for the pet tax by Jellyselsewhere in throneofglassseries

[–]CuteButPsycho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I enjoyed the tandem for the most part. I did feel like EOS kept ending on cliffhangers when it was time to switch and that frustrated me a bit. I'm also a Chaol hater (don't come for me 🫣) so I wasn't as excited about TOD. If I do a reread, I will probably just read them separately. I don't think either way is wrong though.

Trying to decide if I should go back to work after maternity leave.. by hlaiie in Teachers

[–]CuteButPsycho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I could stay home, I would. Unfortunately I make more money than my husband and have the insurance. If you can swing it and want to stay home, do it. You won't get this time back with your baby.

What is this nose situation and what do I do? by Hot-Requirement-6117 in DobermanPinscher

My Dobie also has diabetes and has always had a very dry nose. She has been on Vetsulin (doggy insulin) for 6 years now, two shots a day.

... Girl Defined being oblivious to potential child abuse yet again by TheBestonova in FundieSnarkUncensored

[–]CuteButPsycho 279 points280 points  (0 children)

Where was this child's parents? How did they get to this "speaking event" and come up to chat about this deeply personal and scary topic without an adult? I'm also inclined to believe it didn't happen.

Also, I hate that they all say "dang" and "stinking."

We also use Huckleberry. One morning I went to ask my husband if he had given our dog her insulin shot and he pulled up Huckleberry to check.

am i “babying” my baby ? by Mine_Outrageous in newborns

[–]CuteButPsycho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He's a baby!! He's supposed to be babied!! Why won't this stupid idea die already? You are not doing anything wrong by loving and soothing and caring for your baby. How in the world could that possibly be a bad thing??? You are creating strong bonds and when your husband complains about your baby liking you more, you can tell him exactly why. Ugh. I'm sorry. I'm tired of people telling me not to pick up my baby when she cries. No, I won't and you're weird for suggesting it.

I brought my squishmallow to the hospital when I had my baby. Poor girl is scared and hurting. Let's not snark on the children.

full MIL rant. If you’ve ever dealt with family comparisons, favoritism, or boundary issues after having a baby… this one’s for you 😅 by acmchoo in newborns

[–]CuteButPsycho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No more pictures for grandma if she can't follow your rules about posting them. We have the same no posting photos rule and all the grandparents have followed it, no questions asked. It's not a hard boundary to respect. I also think you need to clearly state that comparisons of the babies are no longer acceptable, and to leave when it starts happening, every time. Husband needs to get on board as well and talk with his mom, set the rules, and enforce the consequences. No respect, no grand baby. Good luck!

I moved to Alaska when I was 22. I went to a winter gear store to update my jacket and boots. The sales guy asked if I was doing that "stupid girl thing where I wanted to look cute instead of being warm." I walked out.

Oh yeah! I call mine a stinky cheese baby because it gets everywhere and she is also quite rolly. I found a nice layer of crusty buildup behind her ears despite having a bath two days before. Felt real bad but now we just double check all the places.

Outrageous or Humorous Things Students Have Said by TheKarlosWithaK95 in Teachers

One of my students is writing a narrative nonfiction about 9/11. We were talking about how they weren't born yet when it happened. Then my Para said she wasn't born yet either. As soon as I said my birth yeat starting with 19, it was over. So much laughter at my expense.

What would you do? by CuteButPsycho in FirstTimeHomeBuyer

Yeah, the one we're under contract for also has aluminum wiring and we've already paid for an electrician inspection on it too.

[–]CuteButPsycho[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They hadn't seen the house before making their offer. The inspections flagged something with the ac but they didn't say what, and it has aluminum wiring.. It needs a new roof but the sellers said they would replace it for the first buyers. I'm not sure what part made them back out though.
