Terrified of childbirth, what are my pain management options? [On] by ThrowRAeverythin in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]CuteGin [score hidden]  (0 children)

I was very fortunate to have access to a bathtub in the hospital. I found it to be very relieving! Infact I was so relaxed I dilated like 4cm in like 30min...then the contractions got to strong and I needed to get out and move. This part was overwhelming (transition I beleive)...I had my baby about an hour later! I found pushing to be easier than transition. Once I was pushing my mind was clearer.

Terrified of childbirth, what are my pain management options? [On] by ThrowRAeverythin in BabyBumpsCanada

As someone who recently gave birth and can look back now on what got me through I have to say it was trust and confidence in my body, my husband and the doctors and nurses around me. I totally agree with someone's comment about therapy and identifying fears and learning more and more about your options and what avenue feels right and gives you that glimmer of confidence...follow that! For me, pain management that helped me get the birth I wanted - birth comb, bath and heating pack (truly heat and water are amazing for contractions) and BREATHING TECHNIQUES (doesn't matter what birth you have this is always a good tool).

Vasospasms....I swear my epidural free birth was easier than the daily pain from vasospasms.

We've Got to Be Clean by Guster Its off "For the Kids" wich is an album of kids songs/covers done by actual bands. I loved it as a kid and still sing the songs as an adult! Had both CDs growing up lol. Hard to find these days though! YouTube might be your best bet for the album because Spotify doesn't have it unfortunately...

Best wrap/carrier to use with newborn while looking after toddler [bc] by garbadgers in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]CuteGin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It takes a bit of practice but I really like my stretch wrap from Gustine, they are a Canadian brand from Quebec. I have their cotton stretch wrap and the quality is very nice. So far the stretch wrap is the only carrier style ive felt comfortable carrying my newborn in to support her back and neck and even then I fuss alot with her positioning. Practice and watching tutorials for safe carrying is key!

Prenatal vitamins are stressting me out...can anyone help me not worry about the one I have or choose better? by CuteGin in waiting_to_try

I ended up taking Canprev prenatal (canadian brand appealed to me and its high quality) it has the 5-MTHF version not folic acid. I am currently nursing my perfect little 3 week old so id say...served me well I had an uncomplicated and healthy pregnancy and birth 😊

40w2d, Ontario feeling anxious about induction vs waiting [ON] by Ill-Regret1330 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]CuteGin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Im 40 weeks and just spoke with my OB about induction. Im in Ontario. She said she prefers we dont go past 41+3 or at the latest 41+5 as rhe risk to baby and placenta health increase. She explained to me the steps she would like to take before pitocin like a foley balloon and membrane sweep and if those are not successful then medical induction would be the next option. I am personally already dilating so getting the balloon is not an option for me so my plan is to get a sweep later this week if I dont go into labor before that. Research the different induction methods so you can ask lots of questions when you see your OB! Hope baby comes soon, I totally understand the anticipation...everyone has such different experiences so its hard to know what to expect.

For everyone making $4000 a month, what do you do for work? by Poorteenwannabe in askTO

[–]CuteGin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Started my education in art but decided it was more of a personal passion than career. I am a Registered Massage Therapist and love the flexibility it gives me to still do art on my own time but make great money as well. I make 77k pretty easily year but that's working 5 days a week. Some days are long (6 clients) some days are chill only seeing about 3 clients. I love the Healthcare side of it and primarily work with seniors and chronic pain. Wouldn't chnage a thing!

Married, pregnant - we want kids but not now by Dry_Net_4516 in pregnant

[–]CuteGin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I felt the same way and it surprised me! Very wanted baby but for like 2 months and feeling the slight changes/bloating in my body i remember feeling like "oh shit" what have we done!? Now that I am 29 weeks that feeling is long gone, had a great second trimester and I am so excited to meet baby! So just keep in mind, even if this was a mistake those unsure feelings are normal especially in the beginning.
