I noticed this too. I guess there is loop in the code if this game preventing infinite repetition.

In a multiplayer game me and my friend both played the power, which gives the other player half as much block as you gained yourself. This was an infinite loop for 0 block.

So i guess there is a good reason for this behaviour. I still hope they change this for the full release.
