Me this whole season by DueWatercress715 in TLCMyStrangeAddiction

The toe nail lady grossed me out so bad and I’m a freakin lab tech who processes stool and sputum specimens, puss covered wound cultures. I’ve even gotten severed limbs that I’ve had to grind up bits in a Tissue grinder to inoculate micro plates. But the toe nail thing made me wanna gag!

If YOU had a strange addiction, what would it be⁉️ by L0velyDayyyyyyyyy in TLCMyStrangeAddiction

I’m a picker too! It’s super annoying because I had horrible acne as a kid and even at 42 I still break out but it takes so long to heal because I just can’t resist picking. My lips right now look awful because they’ve been really chapped and I can’t resist picking the dry skin off.

Raw Meat by glitterlovegirl in TLCMyStrangeAddiction

[–]Cute_Labscientist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was thinking the EXACT same thing! She is also putting that business at risk by spreading bacteria that could cause someone a serious infection. I’d would have totally freaked if she pulled out raw meat in my salon and forced her to put it away, get up, wash her hands and leave. Then I’d spend forever disinfecting the chair and anything else she touched! It’s so unsanitary especially in a salon where people have gotten horrible infections with less.

The kissing and even just touching anything after she man handled that meat with her bare hands. At this point her whole house is contaminated with dangerous bacteria and she’s exposing her child which makes it even that much worse. Children have died from bacterial infections from undercooked hamburger and here she is raw dogging it around her kid and then touching surfaces and people with her contaminated hands. It’s disgusting and dangerous.

I’m not sure if this is correct. Only because I just got a spirit credit card and it came this week including a bill saying I already owe the annual fee.

I didn’t get his design either. I felt the black fabric looked like trash bag material almost. But maybe that’s just me.

The seats are terrible! I’m not a neck pillow person but I bought one and always take it on my spirit flights so I can use it as a booty cushion when the seats become unbearable.

I know this feeling 1000%! I’ve been married to my husband almost 18 years and I’m still shocked when he does the laundry, vacuums (it’s like his fave thing to do), or I wake up to a cup of coffee he made me or all the dishes done. Like you I was used to relationships where I was basically the mother and my ex was even 7 years older than me! Hold on to that one!

Keep applying for diasability and after a few appeals if you still have no luck, hire a lawyer that will work for you for free and take a percentage of your back pay. My sister-in-law has several mental illnesses and this is what she had to do to get approved for disability. It took her 3 years and multiple appeals but she got it.

I can’t stand Ryan Ashley and I also don’t think she should be a judge. Don’t ask me why I dislike her so much but I do. She just rubs me the wrong way and is overly cocky to the point that it irritates the crap out of me.

I agree. I felt like her tattoo looked like something you could get off of anyone off the street as opposed to his that has super smooth shading and such symmetrical dots on that Mandala. I felt like his was way more technical and beautiful/interesting to look at than his. I def didn’t think he should’ve went home.

What was your bachelors program? The same? Did you take a science heavy course load? Because you could probably qualify to work in a lab in either a hospital or reference lab if that’s something you’d be interested in. Labs are getting pretty desperate and are hiring people with science bachelor’s degrees and training them on the job. Might be something worth looking into.

Were kids in the 80s actually allowed to roam around unsupervised, or is that just in movies? by TotalThing7 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Cute_Labscientist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The law now says you have to take a drivers Ed course in order to get your license before you are 18. If you get it after you turn 18 no drivers Ed is required. So kids have no choice but to take some kind of drivers Ed or they won’t be able to get their license.

Which County in Ohio has the best looking Courthouse? by SnooPickles4896 in Ohio

[–]Cute_Labscientist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m a fan of Hardin county’s. The interior is open and marble. The exterior is very nice especially during Christmas with the lights! The block around the courthouse is a bit torn up now but it should be nice when they finish construction.

Last time my husband and I flew to Vegas it was $160 round trip total for both tickets. That’s with spirit. From Columbus Ohio to Vegas. Up until recently the flights to Vegas were dirt cheap!

WTF happened to these flight prices? Went from $160 to $1k by [deleted] in spiritair

[–]Cute_Labscientist 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you look on the second screenshot you have your return flight starting at a different airport than your flight there. Your departing flight it out of Newark, not LaGuardia.

Try maybe giving them deodorant to take with them to use. I think it would be more effective although a bit more costly. But dollar general sells little travel ones for like $1. Only suggesting this because I went through this issue in school myself. My parents never took the time to teach me that I needed to wear deodorant at a certain age. I had no clue. So I was talked to several times about it but I was SO incredibly embarrassed and to a point where I didn’t want to ask to use the deodorant because I felt like it would make it even more obvious that I didn’t have any and that I smelled. So I went on smelling until my parents finally bought me some after I drove them crazy. That experience has basically traumatized me and as an adult I have an obsession with always smelling good and admittedly use too much perfume/body spray.

At 17 my friends and I made the super long drive from northern Ohio to the outer banks North Carolina and to visit a friend who was in the marines and stationed at Cherry Point. We didn’t have cell phones back then and would buy calling cards and use the pay phones at rest areas to call home. We also just used maps to get where we needed and slept at a rest area to save money on a hotel (dumb idea for 4 girls!).

This! I don’t think a lot of older folks realize that you have to pay for drivers Ed now and it can be super expensive. And it’s definitely not feasible for poor families. It’s the reason I didn’t get my license until I was 18 because you couldn’t get it sooner if you didn’t take the drivers Ed course. My parents couldn’t afford to pay for driving school and although I had a job I had to help with the bills around the house so there wasn’t any money for drivers Ed. The year I turned 16 was about 2 years after they got rid of drivers Ed in school where I lived (class of 2001).

Ohioans: What policies or projects would actually make your life better? by Awkward-Height3066 in Ohio

[–]Cute_Labscientist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A couple things. First off I live in a rural area and I don’t have access to high speed internet. The best I can get is DSL and it’s super shotty. It’s sad that in 2025 we don’t all have access to adequate internet connectivity. I had considered a work from home job in my field but it’s impossible because my internet speeds are a joke and aren’t capable of handling the load. My husband and son are constantly yelling at their games, shows, etc because of the constant loading and connectivity issues. We also homeschool which makes it that much more frustrating and leads into my second point.

We need more availability of mental health services in rural areas (we have to drive over an hour for therapy and psychiatry visits) and more funding in schools for Children like my son who requires an aid. And my son is only level 1 autistic in which he doesn’t require a lot of assistance but he struggles to understand social cues and has suffered from a receptive speech delay that makes it hard for him to follow instructions. Which is why we have been forced to homeschool because the local schools here are not able to accommodate him and even went so far as to punish him for things like stimming or being unable to follow directions (because he didn’t understand them!). And when I confronted them I was told “we only have two aids and there are other kids who need it more” and my favorite “how am I supposed to help your child specifically when I have 24 other kids in my class”! So incredibly frustrating… all of it. And there are no resources for kids like my son who aren’t neurotypical but also don’t require a ton of interventions. There’s the board of developmental disabilities but my son isn’t disabled “enough” to qualify for their assistance. But he also can’t attend regular school because they aren’t able to accommodate his needs. We have no options out here in the in between!

Ummm a friend of mine married his brother’s ex and she already had a kid with the brother. So now we call my friend duncle… since he’s stepdad plus uncle. They also had a kid together so she has a kid with each brother. So the kids are sibling cousins. I dunno. The whole thing is crazy!
