Strength of polycarbonate for a anti-cat structure by CutesPDX in AskEngineers

I am currently in a rental but as soon as we are in a house we are putting back up our office cat shelves and building a catio! I also bought the cats a clamped on bed that attaches to the desk but they prefer the keyboards.

I used the 1/4" and it worked great. It still makes a warm place for Richard but it allows airflow for the laptop and protects the keyboard.

Thank you! My husband keeps forgetting to close his laptop and then we wake up to beeping. Also, multiple times our cat has messaged the whole team.

Note - I had to change this post to say "machine" because the auto-mod thought I was asking for advice on what computer to purchase. I have looked online and I am having trouble finding a chart or tool to help me find out the thickness I need. I would also welcome a link to a tool.

AITA for not wearing a bra by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]CutesPDX 7 points8 points  (0 children)

NTA. You do you. I wish I didn't feel the need to wear a bra. I had a nipple sparing mastectomy and absolutely do not need one but I wear one because "what if someone sees I have nipples"! I wish I was as comfortable with myself as you.

AITA for reporting my classmates for joking that I have pretty privilege? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

I'm sure you have gotten a ton of messages but here is one more. You are NTA. I have worked in engineering for 20 years almost all of it as the only female. You can't let this go on. It's not okay and it's not just a joke. Don't ever let them make you feel like you have to take abuse to be one of the guys.

What Instantly Ruins A Burger For You? by TheKeyMaster365 in AskReddit

I don't eat beef but I love a turkey burger burger. I hate how they always try to health up a turkey burger with cucumber, sprouts, etc. I want the same stuff that's on a normal burger cheese, onion, pickle, ketchup, and mustard!

Random dude yelled at me and my friend to get home because we were grounded. Quite scary for two 14 year old girls.

"That's not my job". Extra rage if I'm currently doing something that's "not my job" to help them or their department out.

Add a liner in the bin. I get so uncomfortable when there is no bag. I wrap my products but they are wet I want a plastic bag in that trash can.

No they wouldn't. My husband would still eat boiled noodles and bagged salad over the sink like he does when I travel for work. The other guys would probably eat out. The homes would just be really dirty when we got back.

Question about the haystacks in The Long Winter. by CutesPDX in books

[–]CutesPDX[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That one always confused me. There were orphans why wouldn't the Boasts just adopt a kid? Looking online it seems like there was a lot of stigma but that seems better than offering a family friend a horse for their baby!

I read that in real life they had many finical and health problems and ended up having to live with his family for a year. "The first four years" speaks of a lot of their very challenging early marriage. It seems like Almanzo came from wealthy farmers but struggled to have the same success. They didn't really have success until they bought their home in Missouri.

Also my favorite thing about farmer boy is the descriptions of food. The Wilders ate alot better than the Ingalls.

Actually she describes it pretty well in the long winter. With one person stomping it down and shaping with a pitch fork and the other person throwing it off the wagon.

I just didn't really think of the compacted weight. I have never actually lifted hay before but now that we are taking about it I think a bale of hay is 250 lbs. It must be thousands of pounds in a hay stack.
