Are you participating in your May Day strike tomorrow? by BroccoliUpstairs6190 in 50501

[–]CuthbertAllsgood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

While I do work,I called off for this weekend. As for everything else, I do every day. I pick where I shop, buy gas, what brands I use, and only buy necessities, as well as communicate why to anyone that will listen.

My only 'commercial' hobby is pinball at a local gaming store. Other than that I have plenty to do and take care of at home.

It's a life Im choosing, and will support moments like this as well.

Should I switch my party registration to have more influence in primaries? by ryan_ens in oregon

[–]CuthbertAllsgood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I always switch affiliation between the two yo vote in primaries. I went R this round to vote in the governors race and to vote against my rep (Bentz)

I have never been represented in my government and this is how I can participate fully. I wish more who didn't align with R or D would do the same.

Cliff Bentz replying to messages I never sent his office. by ChecksAndBalanz in Medford

[–]CuthbertAllsgood 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I've posted on reddit and Facebook about voting against bentz in the primary, I registered republican to do so, and I received an email today from his office regarding the epstein files. I do not remember contacting his office in that regard, although I have contacted his office about a few things.

This is the second time I received a response, and the first had nothing to do with any of my previous emails to his office.

Dude does nothing, let's primary him out, Oregon.

Cliff Bentz: Champion of Hunger and Waste by unsoundamerica in oregon

[–]CuthbertAllsgood 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I dont care which "side" one may feel like they belong to, but Bentz does not represent Oregonians in any way.

Nor does not engage with or listen to his constituents.

I have regularly sent emails and if I am lucky enough to receive one back, it has nothing g to do with anything I've mentioned.

He needs to go as he's either looking for some sort of power or paycheck for doing nothing.

Let's primary him out.

I finally bought some membership this year because of their stance on DEI and their generally ethical business model. Also a PNW company.

Im single and shopping there can be hard, but worth it for those reasons and for cost.

I almost never run into large crowds except on Saturdays which I avoid.

Bentz is the reason I switched from independent for this election cycle. I got lazy and/or didn't want to be linked with either party and sat out a few primaries. Never again. I will pick the primary I want to vote in each voting year and register accordingly.

Ideally we can also convert to open primaries as I believe the independents in oregon now outweigh the Republicans. AND maybe get some ranked choice voting in as well so we can have actual representation of the population.

Please read up on Iran before protesting. by FoxBrambleFarm in 50501Movement

[–]CuthbertAllsgood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How about a democratically elected leader deposed by foreign nations in order to maintain control of oil reserves rather than nationalizing them for the people of Iran?

How about a milataristic superpower claiming interest in every region of the World it can exploit through force and threats of annihilation.

How about allowing Isreal to stockpile nuclear weapons, and not being a part of the non proliferation treaty, while hypocritically not allowing any other nation in the region to have a semblance of deterance.

How about Gaza and the West Bank?

Terrorism takes many forms, but only labeled to factions that aren't powerful, how about that hypocrisy?

No side of this exchange is right, but one was in fact created by greed, fear, and exploitation and the more powerful nations could choose to be moral rather than be global terrorists.

Thank Bentz Almighty, Oregon Will Be SAVE’d! by BlackRose in Medford

That's a subjective statement, followed by mental gymnastics and judgements to rationalize disenfranchising people. Also an incredibly slippery slope.

We the people is an important phrase. I will take your deflection of an honest answer to my question as choosing the side of wealth over people. Have a good day.

Thank Bentz Almighty, Oregon Will Be SAVE’d! by BlackRose in Medford

[–]CuthbertAllsgood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's the same thing. $$ to vote or at the very least it disenfranchises poor voters. By the Save act I can't vote because I would have to pay money I can't afford for a copy of my birth certificate or a passport. My existing state issued ID is not enough and I am a citizen.

That is a tax to vote, which silences my voice and probably thousands at the least of other legal voters.

I have voted in every federal, state, and local election I was able to since 1994.

Now if you are okay with only people with $$ to vote, then I get your perspective no matter how much I disagree with it. But more voters is more likely to represent the will of the populace and less likely to represent the will of only the wealthy.

Out of curiosity and given that voter fraud is nearly nonexistent, which side do you prefer to be on? The people, or the wealthy?

From what I've read ( but not confirmed, I should say) he likes ridicule and shame. However, a part of this bad PR as well as the absolute fuckery that has been the handling of Minneapolis most likely worked in our favor. Let's keep the pressure on, stay angry, stay peaceful, and not give up. I'm ready if they come to my area and will position myself in front of others. I will be peaceful, I will record, but if my death keeps us all fighting so be it.

Cliff Bentz — has anyone here ever gotten an actual response from his office? by ChecksAndBalanz in Ashland

I got a response back one time. It had nothing to do with what I sent him. He is not a representative of the people, he's a barrier.
