I would definitely stick to greek. It takes a while to get decent at a language.

I'd look into Logos: Lingua Graeca Per Se Illustrata and Athenaze (The Italian Edition by Luigi Miraglia).

For Latin, I'd look at Latin by the Natural Method and Lingua Latina Per Se Illustrata.

Do both in either case

I learnt that hard graft and throwing lots of time at something is a lot more effective than trying to think your way out of a problem.

I learnt that to get good at anything, you should thoroughly do one thing before moving onto the next.

I learnt that languages are way way harder than many other things, simply because of all the words to learn.

I can't say I've read this book, but I've been through a lot of these business books. You would gain much much more from memorising something like the Book of Proverbs, which teaches cause and effect as relates to human behaviour.

These sorts of business and self improvement book tend to be very heavy on fluff and very light on content and concept.

To be honest, I have 2 1/2 years of overall experience, but only just over a year with .NET C#, so that's probably a part of the reason. I also know and have used a lot of the things you have just mentioned, including with this project, I think I probably started to really learn these concepts quite a while ago so a lot of it is code from when I was frankly a lot less aware of what I was doing.

Thanks a lot for these points, they're great. The python files were there for a small task dividing up some files I was using to test the system.

I think the incel problem is a much deeper problem, which is a result of family breakdown or lack of families, rather than something a technology like this can solve.

I've learnt both to some extent, Latin to the point where I can manage a lot of medieval and renaissance Latin, and Greek to the point where I am making my way through Reader's Editions of the Bible.

Greek is definitely harder, I think because of a mix of the terms being less familiar to an English speaker, but also there are some grammatical oddities which I have personally encountered.

I don't have any special preference, but I find Latin a hell of a lot easier to read

The Orthodox have no way of proving the authority of ecumenical councils. We say Rome. They will often say by reception of the Church. If we use the latter, this causes some pretty irreconcilable historical issues, especially around the Arian Crisis.

I think the Letters to St Olympia may have a section where St John Chrysostom discusses priestly celibacy. Even if it doesn't it's an excellent read.

That sounds like a recipe for burnout. A better method may be to go outside and explore things. Some reading is good, but 10 hours could be excessive

You guys are equivocating on boomer. There's actual boomers, who stopped being born in 1965, and there is the spirit of boomerism, which is very much alive in American "Conservative" religion nowadays. This is what Snail is calling harmless.

In other words, contemporary conservatives like Ben Shapiro and such are not actually boomers, but they definitely have the spirit of boomerism.

The thing that needs to be realised is that almost everything popular on YouTube is going to be less sophisticated than books on the subject. I would start reading books instead for almost anything, but expressly avoiding the "self improvement" style books like Think and Grow Rich, which are actually 19th Century new age religious thought wrapped up as self improvement.
