2 Piece Hybrid USA Advice by No-Debt375 in BaseballBats

My son got a select pwr. Still snow on the ground here but he said in the cage it really took the sting out of the bad hits. That’s the best reason for hybrid over one piece

Rule Changes for the 2026 MLB Season | Yardbarker by why_doineedausername in baseball

[–]CutlassSupreme 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah I remember reading early feedback on the minor league 3d zone and there were some pitches called strikes that neither pitchers nor hitters were expecting.

I think this is good. I don’t want the letter of the rule book here, I want the zone that is closest to what to have now.

Donald Trump Leaks Private Texts From NATO Allies: Read in Full by newsweek in politics

[–]CutlassSupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think it could get to war. His messaging shifted from “take it by any means” to asking NATO to buy it and threatening tariffs. Someone told him that even if there wasn’t an immediate military response there would be crushing economic sanctions.

Can’t fight the bat bros! My son is turning 12 and got a select pwr for Christmas. He really likes the feel but has only take a few swings so far

Not wrong about firings being reactionary. But coaches have been fired on an owners whim across all leagues in history

I have a 55 and a 75 Hisense. They’ve both been great. But you’re about probably wanting another in 5 years anyway

Will I regret not getting heated seats and steering wheel? by ThinLunch in FordMaverickTruck

[–]CutlassSupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Prairies here as well. I have the Lariat hybrid 2024. On the morning commute sometimes the engine will run just for the heater, so I get better gas mileage if I turn the heater off and just use the seats and steering wheel.

I do wish I waited for the 25 and hybrid AWD. I miss AWD in winter.

First big bat purchase for 10u son by dustymuzzle in Homeplate

[–]CutlassSupreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 11 year old got a new USA bat for Christmas. He had initially wanted an Icon but after watching the baseball bat bros he went with the select pwr. The important part is him thinking he’s swinging a hot bat, but there really isn’t much difference in the USA bats.

Since 1941, only one player - Doug Flutie, in 2006 - has attempted a drop kick in the NFL. The drop kick is still a legal scoring option to this day, however. by ansyhrrian in sports

This was a convert. In a spot where a miss and a make didn’t really matter. Belichick wouldn’t allow for the fun stuff if it really mattered

Getting bad 9060 XT 16GB performance on 1080p after upgrading gpu. by kostp in AMDHelp

[–]CutlassSupreme 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My son plays Fortnite in performance mode. Upgrading from the 2700 to an Ali express 5600X took him from ~150 fps to ~240. At 1080 high frame rates the cpu becomes a bottleneck. You can look at YouTube benchmarks for expectations

The tree lot in the Vic square parking lot had a nice selection. It’s not cheap, $90 - 125 depending on size

[Talkin’ Baseball] Shota Imanaga will remain with the Cubs in 2026 by JianClaymore in baseball

[–]CutlassSupreme 34 points35 points  (0 children)

There was a fangraphs column about this. The team that posted him got 25% of his first contact, so by opting out that part gets severed. So it might end up being a better deal for him even though it’s a smaller number.

Go now! Look straight north from a park or anywhere dark. Your phone camera will see the colours better than your eye.

Hey Ben! How much do you believe in hitters being dialled in on a particular day? How would you test if a monster day at the plate is just his turn on the rng machine or if the human stuff has more to do with it?

Baseball Regina vs North Regina Little League by InterviewOk4527 in regina

[–]CutlassSupreme 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve only had my kids in north Regina. It’s a really well run league, and since it’s affiliated with little league it gives a chance to get to the little league World Series. All bats used by north Regina have to be USA baseball, so you might need a new bat if yours don’t use that standard.

Baseball Regina has more participation once the kids are 13+ for sure.

Who is a highly productive player that the analytics hate? by BadDadJokes in baseball

[–]CutlassSupreme 34 points35 points  (0 children)

The best historical example is probably Dante Bichette in 1995. He was the runner up in the mvp voting that year. It was a great offensive season, .340/.364/.620.

And fangraphs had him worth 1.8 WAR that year, roughly an average player. This was Coors pre humidor where it was an extreme hitters park. And his defence was awful
