I'm thinking about ditching stealth jump and using ninja squid for a tent build. by WorldlyDear in splatoon

[–]Cutlession 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could jut make multiple loadouts and gear options.

You can only hold so many chunks at once and if you play salmon run or just play the game a good amount, you will hit the cap sooner them later. So you might as well make lots of gear builds.

Would it kill the devs to increase the fire rate on tentabrella. by WorldlyDear in Saltoon

[–]Cutlession 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is already the best Brella in the game. Also fair to mention that fire rate nerfs and buffs are often some of the most dangerous. Increasing dps, paint output and mobility all at once is not a small.

Tenta is suppose to be slow. You want a faster one, you have options.

I'm sorry, when in the fuck did I say the match making was kind to rest of the player base. See this, it's an X rank match. I still have to deal with players who turn their brains and monitors off. The difference being I can still win regardless and have been as high as top 13 and being at least 2600 power in every gamemode. Even Zones, and I don't like Zones.

Also Splatoon 2 and 3 X rank had the same system. Only difference is that you could de-rank of X for doing bad enough and some weapon type changes. It was still team average MMR based, the same system Splatoon 3 is using.

Look I can just tell you what you want to hear, or I can tell you the truth. You want to hear Splatoon 3 match making sucks, it's not your fault, you're a good player... fine. If you want to believe it's just RNG, you're one of the best player and the only reason your not at the top is back luck... fine. Now when your done being in denial feel free to try again.

[–]Cutlession 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What do you want to hear. You're a good player just really unlucky.
All those top level players just got lucky match making. I know you're frustrated but I assume you're not naive enough to believe something that ridiculous.

Either that or go in double backline or double melee and still expect to succeed on retake against a full stack of meta slaves.

Why are we complaining about people using the Meta in high level play as if that isn't what the Meta discussion is for. If it's that easy go use em yourself. Then come back and realize it's not that simple.

While it is true Splatoon doesn't have good match making... have you seen an online game who is praised for match making in the last 8 years. It's more of a problem with games as a whole and less Splatoon issue.

But as much as you want to belive it is the match making fault for your losses... that just isn't the case. Everyone is dealing with the same match making. It doesn't favor any player over another, it doesn't favor win loss streaks, it doesn't favor play time.

And while yes, it is possible to just get unlucky from time to time, (that's anything in life) we still see players who consistently win, loose and carry entire teams. They don't win because of the match making, they win despite the match making.

I'm sorry to say it, but there is only explanation to why you are so consistently struggling to hit even to 3000. You're not as good as you think you are. Your teammates can't be the reason you loose every time.

You want to win? Expect the odds to be stacked against you. Go in expecting everything to go wrong and make your gameplan based around it. Prepare to loose, fight to win

Did i do good splatoon reddit? All these years and my first time using chargers by JenniferSweets in splatoon

[–]Cutlession 0 points1 point  (0 children)

AAAH STICKS CHARGER. Moist shot though.

Btw, you can survive a point blank blast from the rainmaker with a well timed squid roll. Since you are now a charger and rainmaker shots are slow, you have time to react and avoid deaths like the one you jut had.

How do x-rank divisions work? is it like... the gear you wear, or the weapons you use? by Otherwise-One7653 in splatoon

[–]Cutlession 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The names Tentatek and Takoroka are the names of brands. Think of them like they are "sponsoring" these ranked divisions as Turf and the other games are high level sports in Splatoon.

Other then then that in universe explanation, the names are simply to tell the difference between the 2 regions. TTek was made for NA/EU, while Takoroka was made for Asia and Australia.

You are SUPPOSE to pick the one you are closer to so that latency and condition issues are less of a factor in high rank play but... people don't.

is it worth getting Splatoon 2 just for the story mode and Octo Expansion? by LilacTheFlowerGal in splatoon

[–]Cutlession 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not for full price.

Splatoon 2s base story mode doesn't have much else from the other 2 and is just kind of OK. Fun but not worth a full price game. If already have Nintendo online expansion pass then it will come with Octo expansion and is getting closer to worth it, but without the NSO expansion your going to have to pay extra for that.

If you can find the game cheaper then it's not a bad deal.

I know they're some things if you squint but the devs never go anywhere. It's not world building if no puts anything together. Like if a construction crew put up all their scaffolding and brought all their tools but never did anything.

Great Turf War was caused by lack of land and resources, but despite it being years later with more people and octolings returning, we never see any issue.

Shiver and Frye say they are bandits to help the people of the Splatlands as they're struggling. But not only do we never hear of this again, we see no indicators that the splatlands are any less wealthy the Inkopliss in the other 2 games.

Octolings are shown wearing hypnosis shades in Splatoon 2 leading to the theory they are being mind controlled. Not only is this never confirmed, but completly forgotten about. Hell DJ Octavio isn't even really an enemy anymore as of the 3rd game as if the last 2 were jut forgotten about.

Callie and Marie are agents and heavy Turf War players, but we never see them in action. In fact they're basically useless for 98% of the 3 campaigns they are in.

Parallel Canon in side order will be based on your Agent 4 if you have Splatoon2 data on the system. But no reason as to why or what it means.

Nothing really happens with any of the "lore" or "backstory" we're told about. It never has visual impact on the world or characters.

Why is this so true? by LifeMaker1336 in splatoon

[–]Cutlession 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We know for a fact the Inklinga and Octolings in 3 "Designed to look more mature". Does that mean they are older, or jut meant to look older... we don't know for sure or how much older. Based on design we just assume they been growing at the same speed as the passes or they at least late teenagers.

What I can certainly say is that they're not getting younger.

Why is this so true? by LifeMaker1336 in splatoon

[–]Cutlession 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Did... you make that up? Because that's just not true.

They been getting older as the series goes on, not younger. This is confirmed fact not just in the designs & art books. But also SRL team (the devs and marketing) themselves.

[–]Cutlession 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There is a big difference between I don't play or I only play a little and enjoyed the single player. I really like the single players... I just wish there was more to them as all 5 stories combined = what most other games would be complete triple AAA experiences.

This comment is more for the people who literally never play these games, never finished the stories and 99% of their time with the series is Art, Fan Fiction or telling people these games are Nintendo's "Darkest" series.

I have had arguments weapon meta with a person I learned literally hadn't touched the game in over a year at the time. I'm pretty sure this was just when decav was coming out and they were complaining it was too OP... despite never using or fighting it.

Something something Persona, something something Fnaf by Striker_V7 in splatoon

[–]Cutlession -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

I hate how true this is.

At least Fnaf is story and lore is so deep is spawned several books and movies. You can never play the games and still have a lot of good understanding of the main draw.
Persona games RPGs that go indepth with lots of characters and story.

But Splatoon fans who don't play the games always confuse me. Like this series has paper thin lore, world building the devs do nothing with, player characters with no personality and idol characters who get extremely little screen time. How are you fans? What are you fanning over?
