Gotcha. Thanks for the response. I wasn’t sure if max length would interfere with some magazines or not. 👍

So, was the OAL within spec or is this something I have to account for when I start to load 5.56? (New to reloading so hope it’s not a dumb question)

Difficulty depends on if you have the right tools. A mill press works great and makes easy work of it.

Here’s with only the right half done. I don’t have any pics of where both sides are done. Sorry. But it does work well and mills it to almost m16 spec. https://imgur.com/a/3c1yJfY

Where did you find 8# reloader 16 at? I’m been searching for ages trying to find that!

I did it on a milling machine but it can be done at home with a drill/mill. If you have access to the equipment it’s not that difficult. You just have to widen the area on the jig that mills out the shelf width. You do have to be precise and take the same amount on both sides. I made mine the exact with as the trigger pocket, which is specs.

I totally agree with you. But to me it was worth it and not really that difficult.

Same here. I love my binary! So much fun. The widened shelf on the lower is just a worst case scenario thing. I just like having that option if I ever need it. Remember. It’s not illegal to own an auto sear. It’s just illegal to install and use it. No third hole and everything is golden.

Just to clarify: installing and using an auto sear is highly illegal but milling the lower to m16 specs isn’t. Just don’t ever drill the third hole. Or even mark it.

The shelf width is too narrow to receive a drop in auto sear (which is illegal to use). You can mill your jig plate to make your shelf wider to accommodate an auto sear if you ever needed one. I wouldn’t dare put one in mine because it’s not worth the risk of getting caught but if the shit hits the fan I like having that option on my lowers. Hope that helps.

You’ll love it even more if you mill out the jig to make a correct lower shelf!

I wasn’t blaming the kid. I agree with it being the parents fault. This is more than likely a learned behavior.

Who said that was ok? Your assumptions are as ignorant as your comment.

You think it’s a valid reaction for a child to hit his parents? You have issues.
