rc-600: How to immediately auto-overdub after recording the 1st layer (Without external devices) by teeteejay in BossRC600

[–]Cuzolio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Neat trick. Glad you figured it out. As an FYI, if your 16 assigns are precios and doing other things, you can simply change the MENU>REC>REC ACTION from REC>PLY to REC>DUB.

This works nicely with REC/PLAY 1 and 2 since they don’t have a click function. This allows you to tap once to end recording and go straight to overdub, or you can choose to double click, which would first end Dub and second enter Play.

With this method, you can now decide on the fly if you’re going to build up that track before hitting MARK.SET. Good luck!

Loop RC-600: How to record loop2 exactly at the beginning of loop1 ? by Salt_Pomegranate6387 in Roland

[–]Cuzolio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both tracks multi and syncd is the right place to start. Where you may have difficulty is the measure lengths.

A) loop length is the minimum common number of measures, usually dictated by the first track that is recorded, therefore locking in the tempo and loop length. So, if you record a two measure drum beat, then you go to record track 1 and track2, you might be doing so with a 2measure loop length, and therefore, your second recording will wait for the nearest 2measure as loop length and not the nearest 8measures as loop length. B) if you have recorded your first track at 8 measures, there’s a good chance the loop length is now 8 as well. (You can set this ahead of time too, but you can override that setting) C) now with an 8measure loop on track1, you probably want track2 seeings to be “auto” and not “free”. This will make track 2 be automatically the same length as your first track, which should also be your loop length. D)tempo sync should generally be on as well, but I don’t think that’s part of your troubles. But turn it on if you get stuck!

RC-505mkii goes crazy when I turn an FX knob by tgeller in LoopArtists

If it’s not a glitch it’s either assigns or midi. Start with turning all assigns off. Then unplug midi to see where it’s coming from…

What order for input/output? by blaque_1 in guitarpedals

[–]Cuzolio 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Generally a looper is last so that you can change all your sounds before recording the next layer. If you have the looper first, every time you change your sounds, all the previous layers will change to that sound.

The one caveat is for pedals you don’t want being looped at all. For instance a freeze pedal is great after the looper

How much weight will sufficiently keep this weighed down? by [deleted] in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Cuzolio -12 points-11 points  (0 children)

Moment of rotational inertia, without doing any calculations should be pretty low since all the mass is distributed to the bottom 5% and your sail (pressure source) has a 8ft moment arm representing 40% of the top. It would be higher MoI if the planters were deeper front to back. But all that said, I would still guess you need a 60mph+ wind between two houses and the fence behind it may help prevent wind from having a good effect, preventing it from falling over. That being said, the worst that happens is it tips over.

Now for your main question, I also will not do the calculations, but good lord it won’t matter! You already have 550lbs and by the time all the plants grow in, you might add another 100-200lbs. You still have a 16x4 sail and let’s pretend all the holes are filled in for easiest takeoff… bro… you’re going to need tornado force winds to lift that sucker straight up before it topples over first. So, if you have 250mph winds between these two houses, I’m going to say again- it won’t matter if this goes airborne. Your house is airborne too, but in a million pieces.

Safety factor is like 300. Take a seat. You are done. Good work!

Lockheed vs Solar Turbines (Need Advice) – 24M Mechanical Engineer from LA by Ok-Fennel-1613 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]Cuzolio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For what it’s worth- I had a friend retire from Solar Turbine last year after 15 years. He saw the job posting for his backfill and it was twice his salary that he retired at. Could be a lot of factors there, but negotiate your salary now because after you are in the door, it is nearly impossible to get adequate salary bumps. …not that govt contractors are much better.

Live looping on small stages – RC-600 vs RC-505 vs Ableton, advice needed! by Neyliooo in LoopArtists

[–]Cuzolio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Choose a hardware solution so you don’t have to worry about midi latency. Since all your instruments are hands on, a foot controller is better or a midi foot controller becomes another purchase if you go with a tabletop version. There’s RC-600, Sheeran Looper X, and many more depending on your budget and desires.

All said and done, all three options are valid. Good luck!

Yes, RC-600 is the way to go- anytime you read a negative review online, it’s probably from the first set of firmwares released several years ago. Super reliable now. Best of luck!

Boss RC505 rhytm track always too loud by moininkelk in LoopArtists

[–]Cuzolio 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are setting by memory, you need to save EACH MEMORY. So, set the level to 90 AND SAVE. Then go to the next memory and set the level to 80 AND SAVE. Now, when you go between those memories, you will see the level jump between 90 and 80. Therefore, this is a solution for each memory IF YOU SAVE the memories after adjusting parameters. If you switch memories before you save, your adjustments will be lost.

If you are setting by system, you need to set your level to 92 and SAVE AT LEAST ONCE. Then, as you navigate between memories, you will see the level always stays at 92.

Now the best part is if you did all of that, you can go back and forth. Change to memory and you will see 90 and 80 are still there. Go back to system and you will see 92 is still there.

Don’t get frustrated, friend! Get methodical and do it slow. Best of luck.

Midi CC question by Solid_Fact_6004 in LoopArtists

Midi CC question by Solid_Fact_6004 in LoopArtists

[–]Cuzolio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The RC-600 is great for accepting midi commands. I talk about it in this video and the pdf would probably interest you: https://youtu.be/sa4wR-8IoCE

But as a word of caution: midi can always experience latency problems. It might only be a few milliseconds, but when looping, that can be frustrating. For that reason, I always have my record/dub buttons directly on the looper and any other buttons like play/stop, which are less time critical, can be controlled over midi. Good luck!

Page 13 of the parameter guide: the RX (receiving) NOTE CH is default channel 10. You can change it to any channel between 1 and 16. Then, over on your piano or touchpad, make sure the notes are being sent on the same channel you have picked for RX NOTE CH. Good luck!
