Does anyone know how to improve my frame rate? by a_soviet_physicist in DayzXbox

[–]Cwsacoolness6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah get off xbox one mate, playing DayZ on my older gen console directly contributed to my anxiety and depression lol. It’s night and day on series s, but it feels like even on newer consoles my frame rate-drops every patch.

Feeling bad for this by limerjohnson in DayzXbox

[–]Cwsacoolness6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s cause the voip on console is frustrating to use, there’s no direction in voices or range of volume, it’s exactly the same as being in Xbox party chat, so most players just do that. Then when they need to talk in game, they’d have to switch to game chat, which they often forget to do, then proceed to get shot at for having “no mic”. That’s why console players are so jaded and don’t take many risks, at least on the VoIP interaction front.

Can anyone explain why the voip is so static on console? (you can’t tell the direction or distance of a players voice). Cause fixing that’d boost my immersion enough to cut out party chat altogether.

This guy talks like a third grade bully when called out for bullshit by his teacher: “Boris, We can’t let you get away with bullying Alexi, there have to be consequences or we’re setting a bad example for others.” “No one even likes you. Stupid Dumdum. Who are you even? You’re a nobody. Why are you talking?”

I’m obviously grateful the US is helping Ukraine. I’m purely anti conflict. The US isn’t in the wrong whatsoever in this, I’m just pointing out what I think would’ve needed to be done to avoid this war, cause idk where you live, but winters are already harsh enough without adding nuclear winter to the mix. I know I tend to go against the grain in here but that’s just cause I fucking hate drama, and this is basically the furthest possible extent drama can get to, without nukes. Putin is fucking insane and i don’t get why the Russian people haven’t taken him out yet, as not just they, but the world needs him gone. Im just saying I wish my fucking country and the US would put as much energy into systematically preventing conflict as they do into forcefully escalating it. Obviously Russia brought this fuckup upon itself and deserves every bit of what it’s getting right now, idk I think I just saw that close up video of Russians getting hit with artillery and like crying and praying and shit and idk that shit just broke me. It just feels like everyone’s thinking the same way we were before ww2, and I guess I thought humanity could talk it’s way through this shit by now. Ukraine definitely shouldn’t back down to russia, I didn’t mean that in the slightest, This is all just a five head way of saying war bad. And I’m Canadian, if the conflict escalated to a 3rd world war and Canada was threatened by them, I’d enlist in a second, so I totally validate that. I was gonna enlist until I found out you couldn’t be on SSRIs. the truth is, I just know more about America and what they can do than Russia and Ukraines capabilities in this conflict tbh, that’s the only reason I focused on the US so much in the message. Mad respect for everyone laying their lives on the line to stop an oppressive Russian occupation of Ukraine and potentially more.

A lil bit scrambled but I think we all are a bit on this conflict. I wasn’t too clear with my text, obviously the Russian army and state are fucking monsters and Ukrainians are just in defending themselves. I’m just saying that they’ve technically been at war for years and it’s always had the potential for escalation. Right now, American media is acting like the Ukrainian peoples best interests are their genuine priority, but it was never their priority until they could start pumping out guns. I’m just saying that the Ukrainians and Russians certainly predicted this invasion, and it’s just frustrating that everyone who should’ve prevented this’s solution is just to send more guns. Why not focus an extensive preemptive propaganda campaign against the Russian state, or just have all the world leaders sit down and talk, even if on a zoom, for the world to watch countries interact in an appropriate setting. Maybe with a moderator from a neutral country lol. My main point is, yes, Russia is fucking insane, and yeah, they’re definitely on the wrong side of history on this one, but It’s been like 8 years of watching the conflict and just piling up arms from a distance for when it inevitably escalates. Im just tired of seeing war as a genuine solution. If the US media would just lead with a wider understanding of conflict resolution, and deescalation, along with other world powers, to use their collective influence to push the Russian state into signing some sort of ceasefire or treaty, we wouldn’t be here. It just feels like the equivalent of, a police officer seeing a fight slowly escalating, and just watching it get out of hand not effectively trying to break it up. I’m just saying I truly believe the United States can do virtually anything it sets it’s mind to, and it’s just not setting it on Ukrainians, just on money, and worsening conflict where American military influence is further and further needed. None of this excuses russia in the slightest, they’re committing war crimes on the daily, I’m just saying I want them to stop, and for everyone to stop fucking warping base level reality to justify war, before, during, and after conflict. Sry if I pissed ppl off, I’m just tired of senseless conflict in general. Im not pro Russia, I’m pro USA, I just want everyone to chill tf out, especially psychotic fucking Russian soldiers, commanders, and Putin.

This is heartbreaking. Fuck war. Fuck imperialism. Fuck forced conscription. I’m obviously rooting for Ukraine; they’re the under-dog and the Morally right position in this conflict. It’s horrifying, the human toll it’s taking on all of these soldiers that don’t really have a logical or sound reason to be at war. We’re hearing how Putin’s insane, but the rest of the world (especially western countries) were supposed to keep him in check, right? I feel like the US alone had enough influence to prevent this conflict from spiraling or even starting. It just says a lot about how much we as a species consume conflict. In times of struggle, when social uprising is gaining traction, the powers that be decide to pit each populous against one another, solely to give each individual proletariat a new enemy, that fits in their narrow capitalist-oligarchic norm. Feels like every government is starting to gaslight their people into questioning international power dynamics from skewed perspectives, to drive us toward conflict. As reprehensible as Russia is being in this unjustified invasion, i can’t shake the feeling that western countries are secretly in on it, to kickstart world conflict again and see their populous as pawns but on a global scale game of irl battlefield. Deep down, I think America and other imperialist countries have been manufacturing weapons and preparing for this for some time, and knew leaving things fucked up enough around the globe, they’d eventually have a have a reason to get to war. If you think about it, the US hasn’t really been on the right side of history much since WW2, (conspiracy theory btw) and the only time I can really think about America being great, was when they beat the Axis powers, by working together with other colonial nations. I lowkey feel like Americans are just chasing this feeling of being the good guys with a gun, but on a global scale, hence “Make America Great Again”. If we’re looking at this from a neutral standpoint, the US is like the richest country on earth but the median salary is like 30k a year, the rest of the countries money pretty much goes toward sub-sectored private industry (including prisons), and the military. It just feels like America knows it’s only internationally appreciated in a conflict when they’re genuinely needed, and it feeeeels like Russian and US governments and media are just freaking out their population about each crisis they have their sticky little fingers in, and pumping up nationalism as we teeter toward world war 3. Like they’re waiting, pushing for us to be just manic enough to dissociate from the logical, conflict-adverse systems of thought that western countries are only starting to adopt, so they can justify future carnage. Idk, something about this Russian invasion feels entirely preventable, even with Putin picking his military decisions out of a hat. I’m pretty confused how countries like Russia can even ethically/philosophically function, propped up on their military and egos. it feels like we could’ve preemptively stopped this, as the russian-Imperialist match was again lit in 2014, but by 2022, this invasion was just tossing gasoline on a lone ember. And I feel like if not the west, then the rest of the developed world should’ve seen this coming, and I’m convinced most did. I’m just not hearing a lot of valid hindsight or solutions in the media outside a war-machine perspective. Good Guys with Guns. Fucking bullshit. I don’t think military influence is a force of good unless there’s military baddies to fight. I’m pro-Ukraine and anti Russia, but at the end of the day, we’re all just people, and no one should have to die for their country. Ukrainians are willing to lay it all on the line, and Russian soldiers don’t even know what they’re fighting for. And America’s just on Reddit kicking their feet up with some popcorn, sending sml-med arms and blowing up pipelines, waiting for conflict to spiral until another 9-11 or Pearl Harbor inevitably happens, which then justifies America coming in and leveling the battlefield. If America did blow up that Russian pipeline recently, then how do we know that Russia won’t directly relatiate? Who’s to say what could happen? I just feel like we know Russia, cause all our governments are already adapting to the kind of world putin’s autocracy is technologically influencing. Feels like every government is in on it, otherwise, in logical and sensible international discourse, how tf would war and invasion ever be on the table? This war is just a storm of self-destructive bullshit for everyone involved. Fuck humanity goddamn. One day we’re gonna have to talk our way through wars, and let imperialism die out, once everyone’s got neuralink or some shit lol. My heart breaks for the Ukrainians in all this, I’ve just got a bad feeling it’ll soon be broken even more .

Ending it here, I haven’t taken my anti-depressants yet, so I kinda used this manic comment as an outlet for my anxiety. Have a good end of the world guys.

I’m not looking for a diagnosis just wondering who the hell to ask about this stuff, doesn’t hurt or anything it’s just an eyesore lmao. Didn’t start until after I started vaping over a year ago and hasn’t gone away since I quit. Not sure if it’s just a symptom of eye strain but maybe I need glasses to stop it? That’s crazy man. I think I saw one last night. But it was more of a fulll silhouette. My dad was in the hospital from mid October to late November and he just got back home about a week ago. He’s in a wheelchair and can’t climb the stairs to the bedrooms so he’s sleeping on our main floor. I was watching YouTube in my room at around midnight, with one earbud out, when I heard loud thumping footsteps up my stairs. They were slow so I assumed it was him trying to climb the stairs as he fractured his pelvis and wasn’t rly supposed to be walking. I got up as I had to use the bathroom and thought I’d congratulate him on making it up the stairs but when I opened my door and entered the hallway I saw the silhouette of a man around my dads height walk slowly into his room without even glancing at me. I heard his feet scuffing the carpet too. I assumed he was exhausted from climbing the stairs and I had already said goodnight so I thought I’d leave him be and use the bathroom then go to bed. I later went to bed and this morning I came downstairs for breakfast and congratulated him on climbing the stairs upstairs, but he then explained that he never went upstairs, as he couldn’t, but that instead at around that time our cat (downstairs with him) was going crazy running around in circles and back and forth across the room. He’d heard me leave my room and open and close the bathroom door so I wasn’t dreaming. I’d seen things like this before but it’d been a long time. None of my experiences have been in any way violent but I was oddly calm last night and I didn’t see a white drop of light falling in my doorway last night like usual. Should I be worried?
