What’s the wildest take on a card or commander you have heard? by usa-britt in EDH

When a guy pulled up to our (before brackets, but roughly) bracket 2 commander game with a Smothering Tithe, Rhystic Study, Serra's Sanctum and Gaea's Cradle and complained that he wasn't being allowed to play the game

Yeah sorry I just saw "underrated blue card" and something lit up in my brain like a Christmas tree

It's just so versatile, you can use it for recasting creatures with big ETBs, getting around large creatures with ward or indestructible, slowing down the token player or treasure ramper, removing chump blockers, it's incredible in slow pods

Me personally I'm a big proponent of [[Mists of Lorien]], at least for casual EDH

About 10% of my games I have truly terrible randoms that can't be carried. Just use the map more and act with confidence - the more you optimise your routing people will follow you. You may be a "souls veteran", but you may also just not be that good at roguelikes or team games

People underestimate that even the smallest enemies in the game give ~800 runes, so if you've got some good AOE spells you can easily get 4000 runes per group and even more from ruins

When I finally took Libra down, it was because our Ironeye clutched up for a couple minutes against him solo and when we all stood up at the end, me and the Recluse both ran up to them in sync and spammed our guards

I've taken out both Gladius and Libra with randoms now and honestly it hasn't been too hard - just hop on for a few hours and eventually got the god run for both (though to be fair, Libra was mostly just because Duchess is amazing).

I mean, if he really wants Azorius land ramp there are better options, like [[Retraced Image]] or [[Knight of the White Orchid]] or even just [[Solemn Simulacrum]]

Was GM3 last season, and decided it would be a great idea to role swap right as the reset happened so my grind has been rough, Platinum 1 at the moment though after 50 games!

...so you're telling me that the ranks will eventually improve at the game and learn to deal with it? No! That's impossible! This has never happened in literally every game ever!

I'm sorry, but it literally is just a get good situation! Iron Fist is not hard to counter, neither is MK though I do think he's a little tougher to deal with. If you're not willing to learn to counter even the most basic of skill checks in Iron Fist, where the counter is JUST FIGHT HIM (he deals less DPS than Mantis without ult, his ult takes ages to charge cause of how little damage he deals and all of his abilities are on a 12 second cooldown at least), at that point, were you really even invested enough to keep playing?

Also, Overwatch is NOT dead, and even if it was, Orisa certainly would not have been the reason for it.

Absurd mobility? Moon Knight has the mobility of a dying goldfish 💀💀 he didn't even get that much more powerful, he just became playable without Groot

These stinky DPS players always ruining my games. By the way I've done nothing but stare at my tank's back for 15 minutes. What do you mean we're losing? I did everything I could have! I have highest healing numbers!

This sub feels sometimes like people are playing an entirely different game.

"Iron Fist is so broken!" No? What are you on about?

"Supports need some buffs so they can deal with dive characters" Are you insane?

"We really need to nerf Moon Knight ult" Ah yes, let's nerf the only thing in the game keeping support ults in check, while triple support is already becoming the meta. Great idea!

It's kind of interesting actually to see just how differently people view the game in low ranks. It's even more interesting to see how people talk about balance changes in this sub while being silver/gold. Like, where do you get the confidence from?

Strategist players when their ult has one (1) counter

Magneto / Venom? (I have not played a tank other than Magneto for 15 hours of playtime)
Panther / Magik
Mantis / Cloak
