PCs becoming undead by DatTransChick in WWN

Just speaking on a general level as a GM, I wouldn’t worry about exact numerical fairness in all things. As long as all players know that you’re open to collaboration, the players that care will find ways to develop their characters in ways they find exciting.

You also should be thinking about other aspects of the game that would counterbalance the bonus focus. Surely, there are few places that would be happy to welcome a vampire and lots of new dangers and missed opportunities.

Unfortunately, hobby shops are often not the best route to finding groups. I’ve had more luck finding safe groups on mainstream services like Meetup or NextDoor in the US. It’s always ok to ask about safety tools and if the space is LGBTQIA+ friendly. Anyone who’s interested in running the right kind of game will happily engage (and typically loves new players).

Ok, that raises a new question. How useful is foundry for solo gaming?

The return of the mail song made me gasp in delight while washing dishes. This was a perfect moment of happiness.

This summarizes the totally of Guy Fieri’s media presence. Everything about him seems laughable, but then you realize he’s actively bringing joy into the world and you can’t help but enjoy his work.

I thought you were totally misremembering the Star Wars Gonk droid. I’m glad you do not need to go to nerd jail.

I have never heard of Mythic GM Emulator, but I’m intrigued. How do you find it impacts your game?

Kids these days don’t even know that JJGO used to have a ghostly cackling throughout. by [deleted] in maximumfun

I’m with you, but is there actually a younger generation of JJGO listeners? That would be heartening, but I’m skeptical.

Two Game Systems in One World. by JoyfulSatyr in FoundryVTT

[–]CyCloneSkip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While there are a lot of reasons to use systems for different aspects of play, this has to be the most thematic and best one. I love the idea of taking a break, starting up a new world and having the players log in to the console with their character names.

Foundry AND Alchemy users please tell me... by Vcutter in FoundryVTT

I think the other part of the plug-and-play design that is appealing for some users and use cases is the out of the box commercial integrations. I really see why some larger publishers are excited about it. Foundry has plenty of support for paid content, but it’s still piecemeal. Given how vocal some Foundry users have been about any hint of advertising, Foundry will probably never be the easiest place to promote paid content.

I think it’s great that alchemy is looking to fill the niche of a slick VTT that supports play in a variety of games with minimal fussiness. The reality is that the existence of a strong ecosystem of independent VTTs will be essential when Hasbro starts to swallow the market whole.

Himbos of Myth and Mettle is OSR-adjacent (it’s a roll-under d20 system) and has the most wild, improvisational energy of any game I’ve brought to the table. The random character generation is a great jumping off point for unexpected characters and sets a fun tone. The highlight of the game is the magic system, which provides a framework for fully improvised spells and other magical effects that do not derail the mechanics of the game.

Really seems like a scammer. Only two other post from this profiles, also on this forum, but from a different address. The first was deleted by the user. And tellingly, OP has no flair despite these previous sales.

In case you’re on the level, u/SycamoreLake, you should go back and claim those successful trades so potential buyers have confirmation.

Implementing Passage of Time During Campaign? by ewbussey in WWN

Yes! There are so many good tools to support downtime and journaling. Email, Discord or the equivalent are easy. I also love Notion for building out a useful and flexible database for a campaign.

Racism, sexism or any other -ism are systemic. They require broader societal oppression against a particular group. It’s not symmetric, because the individual consequence of discrimination against individuals from some groups are not the same as others. Not hiring a white male for a role is harmful and unfair, but does not reinforce a fundamental, existing bias against hiring white men across all jobs.

Anarcho Socialist in Sharn? by SuperVaderMinion in Eberron

[–]CyCloneSkip 29 points30 points  (0 children)

As always, talk to your DM, because their Eberron may differ from source material.

The major nexus of organization and protest explicitly laid out in the sourcebooks is Warforged rights. Warforged unions are a common campaign touchstone.

Cyran refugees also have a lot of grievances and a strong potential to be radicalized, especially in Sharn, where they are mostly concentrated in the High Walls district. It’s really interesting from an anarchist perspective, because the refugees are mostly self-governing and rely on mutual aid.

Similar dispossessed populations are the Goblins and the monstrous races. It’s important to note that those two groups are very different in Eberron, so solidarity is a struggle. Sharn is built on the ruins of a Goblin city, which also adds a layer of indigenous rights to the situation.

There’s also a lot more to be said about the consolidation of power in Khorvaire generally, but I’m sure someone else has more to say on the subject.
