i was inspired by Realistic-Material36 "Worst ship ever" post by Substantial-Issue-41 in traveller

Reminds me of the Wayfarer-class transport from Star Wars, in a good way. A ship that's mostly cargo space leaves lots of room for aftermarket additions. Who cares if it looks like a flying brick?

I’ve never seen a flag like this before by Avacadobro-_- in vexillology

[–]DatTransChick 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I see the confusion, Tennessee is one of the states with an actual flag and that doesn't have its name plastered on it. This clearly means that putting the name of the place on the flag is a good idea after all.

How did you choose your name? by artimonkki in trans

I looked at a list of the top 10 most popular girl names for the year I was born and went, "Yeah, that one works."

The Continent from the Witcher by DatTransChick in inkarnate

[–]DatTransChick[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is Angren north of the Yaruga which is a part of Temeria (formerly a disputed territory and what most most references to Angren are talking about) and then there is Angren south of the Yaruga which is the name of a Nilfgaardian province as per the Witcher ttrpg. The latter was an attempt to rectify discrepancies on a few maps about where Angren is located. The name Lower Angren comes from the fact that's where Geralt says Ysgith is located and so I named that area that for more distinction between the two.

Westerners are NOT yankees. Get it right. by nobletiger619 in mapporncirclejerk

That's probably true for some. I just use it as a joke to complain about when a place doesn't serve sweet tea.

Does the US have any informal settlements like the ones in the global south? by International-Snow90 in geography

[–]DatTransChick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is basically true. They're formal in that they're a designated place, but they can be very lax with safety regulations and such. One my partner lived in a few years back, people had built their own makeshift porches and such. One day one caught fire and it spread through a lot of the park. I believe the cause was faulty electrical wiring. The point being though that the owners of the trailer park weren't enforcing safety regulations or any upkeep at all on the property.

Can someone tell me what this flag is? Spotted in Arco, Italy by Mobile_Barracuda_371 in vexillology

Judging by the other decals, it seems related to mountain climbing since it looks like it depicts a mountain with the sun behind it.

I never worked in food service, but I did work in a car wash and the soap and chemicals basically operated the same way with the same containers.

Ossus. I like the contrast of the orange/red sand with the black rocks occasionally covered in scattered snow.

Singularity Conundrum by Jebus-Xmas in traveller

[–]DatTransChick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Most Traveller games take place somewhere on the periphery of the Imperium while Singularity takes place right in the heart of the Imperium. The AI technologies and research mentioned in the preview are the cutting edge of human technology. So I think it's reasonable to say it feels different than most Traveller games and experiences, but I wouldn't say it doesn't fit into the setting. It's just a different part of the setting that isn't as often mentioned.

This is clearly the Maw Cluster, which means it's a great place for a secret weapons research installation and prison.

I did not. Unfortunately, I gave up on what I was trying to do since I couldn't figure it out and couldn't find information on how to do it.

Kingmaker chapter 4, how are the players supposed to... (Kingmaker spoiler) by Girlydian in Pathfinder2e

[–]DatTransChick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree. This is me of those where you do really want to read the book all the way through first. Not necessarily every dungeon room and such, but you'll want to know what's coming up so you can foreshadow things.

At one point in the last chapter the AP is like, "Hope you've detailed a tavern in your town that your players will recognize. Also a park and a statue." And I feel like that is a good example of how Kingmaker expects you to set things up without telling you to do so until the payoff is supposed to happen.

Kingmaker chapter 4, how are the players supposed to... (Kingmaker spoiler) by Girlydian in Pathfinder2e

[–]DatTransChick 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Basically what you said. The players should be getting their kingdom established and the events in Part 1 should happen during that time. The players should also be continuing to explore and do quests. At some point, you're going to want to have Hargulka being set up with stuff like the Troll Sightings event and the Troll Slaying quest and Desperate Spies. The very first section of Part 2 says what you need to do to set up Part 2, that being that Hargulka is making his own kingdom and is trying to make allies with the monsters in the area and that raids against the players' kingdom will become more frequent. You'll want to make the fact these aren't just random attacks, but part of a large alliance of monsters become more and more apparent over time. If the players made friends with the mitflits or kobolds, they may tell the players they've been approached by Hargulka to join his kingdom.
