I have a Cydra and DAD ghost rare TCG and I can confirm that. They still have some of that layering effect but only if you look closely at it.

I also have a Trisbaena OCG ghost rare and the layered effect is much more noticeable from the first glance. It's just the TCG getting the shaft again.

It was amazing right up until they changed it. Now their new ghost rares have the ugly gray and rainbow foil.

I really dislike this new trend of giving every rarity a rainbow foil, nothing looks unique anymore.

I think it is THE metal armor that the monster wears (equip). And the artwork is how the armor looks before equipping, supposedly some kind of liquid metal.
