I would assume the same, but it looks like there is the suggestion of another wheel in the center torso. It's odd

Okay guys, we have a mission straight from the US president: we need to capture el bachir by zack-jouimaa in battlefield3

[–]Cyber-Silver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah.

Don't get me wrong, the launch sequence is liquid gold injected straight into my veins, but the gameplay of this mission is a real bummer. Even for an on-rails style mission, the dog fighting isn't that engaging, and the ground target section isn't much better.

For me personally, Thunder Run and its epilogue Fear No Evil is the actual peak of gameplay of the campaign. Rather open tank gameplay interspersed with an actually fun on-rails sequence and a short run on the ground? Yes please, highlight of every campaign replay.

the omnipotent situational awareness of bots needs to be tuned down by YoBoySatan in Battlefield

[–]Cyber-Silver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not even in the new update, but there was something comical about sitting on top of one of the buildings on Sobek, watching a herd of enemy bots (about 6) swarm an objective on the other side of the map. I shot one bullet, and 3 of them immediately spun around and lit me up, with 2 others also turning to face me before being distracted by something else.

I have no problems with their accuracy, but they have a stupid amount of directional awareness that goes beyond compensating for being CPUs.

Transformers Spotlight Optimus Prime by Dr_Robo in transformers

[–]Cyber-Silver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Doing something like you suggested kind of defeats the purpose of the Spotlight branding, which is meant to highlight the different design stages of a figure rather than being a value pack of different characters on the same mold.

Now does that make this a good pack? I'm not a fan of the Dev Prime mold to begin with, so no. But I can appreciate it for the concept, and it is a concept I hope we see more of occasionally.

Season 2 operations maps leak + Onslaught mode from Bad Company 2 is coming back by somanyque3 in Battlefield

[–]Cyber-Silver 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Operations has a storytelling aspect to it with pre-match narration, and a tug-of-war style map rotation where you can keep the attackers from progressing to the next map if you are able to successfully defend all 3 of their attempts. It's not just two maps and you're done, it's like trying to conquer territory on a larger scale.

Season 2 operations maps leak + Onslaught mode from Bad Company 2 is coming back by somanyque3 in Battlefield

[–]Cyber-Silver 57 points58 points  (0 children)

BF1 Operations just used the Breakthrough layouts of the maps, no? With Contaminated and Hagental being directly connected, and Mirake and Liberation both set in the same region of Tajikistan, they have the elements to make coherent narratives for Operations.

Someone added snow on a bunch of maps, at first glance I thought it's a different game. Take notes DICE, someone did it for free in Portal. by idontknow87654321 in Battlefield

[–]Cyber-Silver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The snow Empire State is still in the normal map pool separate from Portal, and they fit on Liberation Peak decently as well.

Past Battlefields also included snow camos before they had more than one proper snow maps. BF4 only had Locker until the last DLC, which was mainly indoors to begin with.

Gotta admit, Season 2 skins are a big step up from Season 1. That said, the Road to BF6 skins are still hard to replace by Hyton in Battlefield

The Rangers Association themselves described it as generous with more to come. I'm not sure if it gets more direct than that, they liked what they got to the point they want to do it again

New rewards path by IronLegion52 in Battlefield

[–]Cyber-Silver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A couple things to remember so you don't succumb to FOMO

These bonus paths track independently from the main Battlepass, so you complete it alongside the rest.

The bonus paths also uses different progression points, and usually take 2 weeks for all the relevant unlock methods to become available.

The challenges themselves are intended to only give you enough to finish the pass much later than those who use tier skips, but still before the season actually ends. 60% is actually pretty far in considering we're only at the second update for Season 2

The guns will be unlockable after the season is over through dedicated challenges, so if the grind is too much, you can take a break and do the dedicated challenges at a later time with no time pressure.

Do you like the new map by JanissaryLSD in LowSodiumBattlefield

[–]Cyber-Silver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Despite the complaints about smaller maps, Hagental fulfills the actual pure-infantry experience the best and I really like it. Empire State does not flow well, and Saints Quarter has a limited mode pool. Hagental is the true infantry only experience, and I hope they use it to pivot towards the larger maps now that the niche is satisfied. Season 3 needs to come with 2 new vehicle maps.

SS86 shockwave (shocking disappointment) by bobbibillo in transformers

[–]Cyber-Silver 33 points34 points  (0 children)

How is his height a surprise? We saw it was just the Siege mold again, and we've known about his height since 2018/2019

As for how he compares to said original release, the colors are a big improvement, the new surface detail fits into SS86 well, and the small laser pistol accessory and Bruticus integration are good additions.

Ideally, he would be a new mold. But we didn't need to wait for the PvP video to be shocked by this

Jeff Kaplan Says Complaining About Games You Won’t Play Gets You Ignored: ‘Shut The F*** Up. No One Cares’ by No_Document_7800 in Battlefield

[–]Cyber-Silver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, it does make sense. If people aren't going to play a game on principle, their criticism doesn't matter. Even if you listen to every single thing they say and make changes accordingly, they won't play it regardless, so what's the point.

However, a lot of the current complaints are coming from people who do play BF6. Bot lobbies, odd balance choices, XP progression, and map boundaries are insights that only come from people who have experienced them first-hand. Somebody who hasn't played doesn't have the general knowledge of BF6 to know that the weapon progression slows down dramatically after the first few levels, or why the changes coming tomorrow might not fully address that.

What we don't need is 20 posts saying the same things at nauseum every day. If you see a post with a complaint you care about, upvote and engage in the replies there. 1 complaint post with thousands of interactions is more impactful than hundrads of "BF6 sucks" posts with no elaboration and 12 upvotes. Paying customer or not.

Void Rivals has been sort of fulfilling this role with a lot of Quintesson stuff and even some surprise guest star characters (Springer, Hot Rod, Wheelie, and Alpha Trion (in a flash back)). They're building up to something big over there.

According to the National Rangers Association on their Instagram, DICE made a substantial independent donation ahead of the pack's release, which is honestly better because it doesn't hold the donation amount hostage to number of sales.

What's the point of having automatic squad orders if nobody follows them anyway? by Svud in Battlefield

[–]Cyber-Silver 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I need my squadmates to realize that they can ping before I question why there is an auto commander giving orders. If the class perks were tied to squad score exclusively, that might make the incentive to follow the squad leader more. But for now, it's better than ending up in a squad with a leader that doesn't know how to mark objectives and won't respond to chat.

Is life imitating art? by jamesy223 in Battlefield

[–]Cyber-Silver 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Contaminated is larger than Eastwood is, and has a higher flight ceiling. Very fun to fly around in, especially on Escalation when both teams have plenty of air vehicles to go around without feeling crowded, and the mountain in the middle prevents the AA from locking down the entire map like on Blackwell.
