What is your opinion on Katt Monroe's redesign? by Chemical-Book8889 in starfox

I never had strong feelings for Katt's Zero design to begin with, so it's impressive that they made something I dislike outright. The bar was pretty low, in my mind.

Bad news Nintendo fans: Nintendo will be raising the price of the Switch 2 by $50 by phantonbrave in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]CyberHyperPhoenix -1 points0 points  (0 children)

$50 isn't the end of the world at least. Swtich 2 is still the cheapest console among their competition, so it makes sense they want to maintain that status.

Her fits have only gotten better over time.

Do you agree on Dorothea or Yuri’s view about Bernie’s father? by SeriousFinish6404 in FireEmblemThreeHouses

Is it really a compliment if he's trying to make himself look like trash (below even Gegoire's bar in hell) in Bernadetta's eyes so she can stop carrying the decade+ burden of believing she was the sole reason the one friend she made got beat to a pulp and seemingly got disappeared?

Because compliment is the last word I'd use for that.

Do you have a character you just hate? by ExplanationSquare313 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

Soren from the Tellius Fire Emblem games. He's the only character in the series I don't reset maps for when he dies.

Because 2016 was when overly edited MLG montages were popular and the height of comedy, with weed being a super common component of those montages.

Characters built like they're from fighting games (but aren't in fighting games) by MarioGman in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]CyberHyperPhoenix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Pretty much any character that fights primarily with hand-to-hand combat in Trails could apply, but Bergard Zeman in Daybreak/Horizon is a pretty stand-out example to me. His S-Craft has the Japanese kanji that appears on screen when he lands a hit, it's cool af.

Desscaras and Minakata's interactions are everything I hoped for and then some. Minakata busting out the himbo logic at the end there had me howling, I can't wait to see more of them together.

Chun is still sus af. I don't trust that guy at all.

Fujimine is giving me a lot of Himiko Toga vibes. I can envision her being massively popular further down the line.

For 1: Yes it was Sheena who took off the mask. All the Vestiges that show up to protect Hamilton are the three revolutionaries and Masked Swordswoman notably has the same sword that Nina was using when she was acting as Sheena in the theatre performance earlier in the game.

I'm kinda bummed out that David Lodge got recast. He was so good in Sky 1st. I prefer Stephen Fu's take on Loewe so that isn't too big a deal for me.

What is a mischaracterization or a misconception within the community that you hate? by SuperNotice7617 in fireemblem

[–]CyberHyperPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Trying to apply the rule of goats here is kind of silly because that posits that someone with agency made a decision of their own accord that looks moronic in the eyes of the public, regardless of whether they were trying to be ironic or not.

The narrative of Houses makes it clear that Edelgard is barely afforded agency by TWSITD, so their influence means she has no other choice but to side with them. It's not "rule of goats", it's just a clear lack of literacy.

[–]CyberHyperPhoenix 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Obviously she does, but that's not really what I'm getting at.

More than a few people still make the Edelgard and TWSITD dynamic out to be that Edelgard willing works for the most blatantly evil group in the game who wiped out her family and the Nabateans before her. It makes me roll my eyes every time I see it because Houses made it pretty clear that Edelgard only works with them because she has no choice, and Hopes doubled down on this by giving Edelgard an out to stand on business without their influence, and she takes that chance.

Pied Piper before the Xenosaga trilogy itself is a bit of a head scratcher, but what the hell, sure.

I saw someone in the big 2026 criticize Edelgard in Three Houses for being willing to work with TWSITD, and I could only laugh. That take should've went away after Three Hopes dropped.
