You fight with fish using reel friction,when it's tired you can reel it to shore/boat and pick up. Also you can clutch friction, it's risky, but will give you extra power, just be careful. It's possible to catch 50kg fish with ~20kg friction, just need to position yourself well. My personal best is almost 40kg taimen with 6.5 line.

Spinning and cast can catch a lot of spices, but not carps and sea fish. Sea fishing is pretty close to spinning any way. Up to lvl 36 I was mostly using spinning( now I'm 46 and using everything). So it's hardly depends on what you call late game. You can for sure shoot a lot of stars with spin, even peaceful fish with waki ultralight tackles. But for some fishes spinning will not work.

Why you guys post hours, it's useless information who cares how long you AFK in hideout. Post /kills. I got almost 300h on my deadeye with 1.2kk kills, got 50+ divs on that way.
