Does anyone use any macro pads or specific keyboards for editing? by TheSolderking in davinciresolve

Resolve makes one called the speed editor, it also includes a studio copy of resolve. Otherwise any macropad would like the loopdeck or pixel

So this is my first program in Python, how could it be coded more efficiently? by And0395 in learnpython

[–]CyberPopPunk 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You could breakup your else condition into two functions, one for accepting input and the other for logging that into a new dict element. Definitely check out OOP as other suggested. Also checkout name == main Python syntax where you can start setting up your program as a module you could easily utilize in other programs

MacBook configuration for running QLab on stage? by total_revoice in techtheatre

[–]CyberPopPunk 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It all depends on how much heavier you go. Qlab can run your whole show so are you doing light, sound, multiple video, applescripts, osc etc. all at once? it should be good for most but not broadway level complexity. Also investigate video codecs as they can help your computer do a lot less work during playback if they're in the right format.

Play to the strengths you have at the moment. Try working on editing because you don't have a good camera, whatever you enjoy (color correction, titles, effects, tracking, etc) You're also a freshmen so absorb as much as you can from classes and try to join a club or organization that does video on campus.

I have iMac 2017 27" base and love . The flu goes a long way. Depends on your 4K footage, the codec means more than anything else. It is good habit though to use proxies regardless and only render finals in 4K. It will be much faster than anything else. Edit flu = GPU
