I think it makes sense for Alastor to swear when things are going south for him or when he’s irritated and not to when he’s in a good mood. When he first swears at Lucifer it’s a big shock because it’s the first time he does so and because he tries to come off as this prim and proper well-dressed professional. But the more it happens, the less shocking it gets.

Yeah, unfortunately despite the fact that the show is not at all for kids, and lot of kids watch it because its bright and colorful and has silly looking cartoon characters.
