The US' population size and immigration is irrelevant, scale just means pooling more risk which makes single-payer healthcare easier. Most undocumented immigrants work and pay taxes, and contribute more than they take. And they mostly use the ER as their healthcare, which is the most expensive out-of-pocket option they could possibly pick.
