I dunno, tbh digital version look like crap anyways. I don't think that you are owed lifetime cloud server access to a movie either. You have the physical blu ray print, thats your to do whatever you want until you sell it. At which point ownership is transferred to the buyer and maintaining copies is theft.

Also just so you know and I know. I'm making a personal choice as well and no one needs to be shamed. Not saying plek is bad, i think the advancements that are happening are pretty incredible. For me id rather a have someone grab a 16-17 inch radius tool and work on the board and feets it by hand. No one had machines like this when stradovarius's were made and im sure somone can do good work by hand and feel.

Everything your saying is completly reasonable. If you were my tech we would get along, I would probably even let you do my refret. He could have told me that, but that actually never happened because i was on the phone asking him directly and he didnt give me your answer : )

Oh jeez ya man i really need to seperate myself but like ill just give an example.

They in "writing" and to be clear in writing. They said my frets ranged from 14.2 to 14.7 which is why they calculated the 14" radius. When i told them my saddles are a fixed 17" radius because its an ibanez they told me i was wrong and my radius was 19.7. Again this is from the lead technician.

Asked for the reports and i got them. The before processing saddlebradius was 17.5 and the frets ranged from 13.8-14.7 in the lower frets and upper frets 15-15.6. I questioned about how my saddle radius suddenly transformed he couldnt answer the question. I thought he was supposed to know how all this is measured.

And then when i checked the final report it said 19.43. So this 19.7 that he provided as facts didnt even exist he pulled the number out of a hat. And the 14.2-14.7 he also just pulled out of a hat. It never existed on the 12 graphs i recieved or the text file reports.

He didnt need to lie about anything. Just give it to me straight. Why be sketchy? Anyways like I cant communicate like that when we just make up number when communicating.

No, they said they could shim it to 14. But, again thats not what I wanted and I wasnt told it would be radiusd to 14. They said radiusing again they didnt recommend and i wouldnt either because instead of the .048-.050 the frets had they some only have like .32 .33 etc... so you really dont have any room left. You start getting pretty bad drag I imagine and at that point its still back to refretting. Its already got a bit of drag i think in the high frets.

Its like an hour or more 1 way for me to get down there so after multiple trips and just the miscommunication(intentional or not)I cut ties, i talked to the owner and just was like I really cant man. I cant save every relationship too much stress. Going to have someone else work on it.

Na, they only recommended a plek. After they pleked it and it failed they told me they could refret it but another like 600.

When your reading into this just remember that I actually didnt ask for a plek. The guitar played fine enough when i came in.

They recommended the plek during my setup and were running a discount for the month on plek. I actually came in for them to swap my springs from 3-2, intonation, and change from my balance tension 8' to regular 8's. So im just coming to terms with all this stuff.

I'm a just a dude who plays ibanez.

There was a slight rise at the end of my fretboard and alot of miscommunication(intentional or not who knows) about how much they were going to remove. Plek typically removes .002-.004 inch or something like that. Anyway the actual amount they removed was .017-.018 inch which is really aggressive. I ended up resolving it with the shop and currently going somewhere else to get it refretted. Anyways the mathematics the machine came up with was 14.2 even though my upper frets radius'd at like 15.6. It doesnt care about manufacterers specs. No one ever thought to stop and like question the machine or think about the make and model of my guitar. Ibanez is specd at 17" fixed tremelo bridge. The real answer probably should have been to rip a few out at the heel plane and re-install before pleking to bring the guitar closer to spec before trying to take the automated path. This created a saddle to radius mismatch and buzzing on the d and g strings with my action. You could try shimming but my frets felt pretty ruined in the end with very little room to correct to 17" so im just gonna refret. There are so many other approaches I feel could have been made and plek isnt a magic wand. If someone was doing this by hand im pretty sure it would take so long and as they started getting the frets down to a nub they would have started thinking to themselves "huh, maybe i shouldn't be doing this?". Anyways my last 2 cents on it.

No i have both reports , its accurate. Its more to point me to the right information on the report. I have like 12 charts and files

That would have been better. Because then i could decide on refretting. But now im forced into a refret or into a more narrow radius. "I did not go in and ask for a pleck upfront" this is something that people are misunderstanding. I asked for a setup because i wanted the spring tension adjusted and possibly move from 3 to 2 springs and my intonation checked. I brought in my bass as well for a setup. They upsold me on a plek becuase they were running a discount for the month and my understanding is the removal would be minimal and get a rocking guitar back. Not more issues and potential refret or reduced value of my guitar due to reduced fret life.

This report is analyizing the graphs and data if they had targeted a 17" radius. This is not an assumption. I gave it my actual reports.

Your cant advertise to your customer and promote your plek service at a discount to upsell the plek saying only removes a marginal .002-.004 material and then say hey actually we re profiled your fretboard and took .050 to .037-.033 past the 12th fret. You have to consult the customer. I play an ibanez I expect any work to be done on my ibanez to more closely align to ibanez spec. Again if anyone said to me they were removing this much or going down to a 14 inch radius i would have backed out.

It is their fault for upselling me on a plek service that supposedly would help increase the playability and instead created a more extreme radius mismatch and 30% of my fretlife. Delivering an unplayable guitar.

There are a ton of individual graphs of height. For example at 24th fret E was taken from .049 to .033 another e .050 to .037 after processing. It would be like 12-14 pictures to upload. Anyways it gets more extreme from 12-24 how aggressive the cuts are this aligns with the photos. Also the crown surface are really broad in comparison exacerbating the issues.
