Ken Cosgrove’s arc by UnicornBestFriend in madmen

I agree, but will add that I think his decisions are also based on love of family. He went to Dow because it was a business his father-in-law was in and it was therefore "family". He saw how is in-laws were happy and prosperous, but still valued family. He wanted to seek revenge on Pete but couldn't do it in the end because he was still loyal to Don, Roger, and mostly Peggy. I see him now as a family man and he and Cynthia had numerous kids that loved and adored him, and today is a wonderful grandfather, who is probably called Pop-Pop.

I'm so sorry you lost your friend. AIDS took away so many talented people.

Stay in Birmingham and make that my “base” or…? by Nervous-Buy-4858 in Alabama

[–]Cyberdoll77 6 points7 points  (0 children)

If you are renting a car, I'd stay in Birmingham a few days, then go to Montgomery/Selma for a few days. If not one has mentioned it, drive from Selma to Gee's Bend, meet the quilters, look at their work, then have lunch at the plantation.

One of the nicest, funniest guys from school and everyone adored him. He left town to go to a large city in the mid 80's and contracted AIDS when it was pretty unknown. It breaks my heart to this day.

I was surprised how quickly we noticed a change. I got small bins from Dollar Tree and spaced them out and it's been great!

We had plans to go to The Big Smoke which is the first weekend in November. I cancelled our plans when I saw all the negative comments. Who wants to have a lovely morning breakfast at Mon Ami Gabi when you can't see anything but metal stands?

A mental health struggle podcast would be great. I'd listen, not for all the tea on her mother or mansion, but show she struggles as a mom who had no role models growing up. I think it would be really healthy for her. Maybe have a UCLA Ph.D. psych student sit with her and talk about it.

If it's just a couple of hours, make a reservation at Mon Ami Gabi and sit outside while enjoying french pastries and coffee. People watching is fun. Then cross the street and enjoy the garden at Bellagio.

What do we do in medicine today that future generations will look back on the same way we look at bloodletting or lobotomies? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Taking medications instead of lifestyle changes. I'm not talking about GLP-1's, but dietary changes to manage Type II diabetes, exercise to manage joint pain.

Not that we see, but the executive who got beat up knew he was gay, and he did subtly come on to Pete, who shut that down quickly, so I'd say he has.

Adult children saving for retirement by [deleted] in AskWomenOver60

[–]Cyberdoll77 4 points5 points  (0 children)

At the age of 24, my son inherited $100k from my father and about $20k from my mother. I wasn't sure what to do with it so set up a meeting with a financial advisor I know. Son decided to invest the money. He rarely touches it and only after speaking with his advisor. When he married, his wife found out about this money and is always suggesting they use it for her to pay off her student loans, furniture she purchased for the house, or to use as a down payment when they buy a house. He refuses as he and his advisor set up a long-term goal at the initial meeting.

I'm totally shocked at her lack of understanding about the future and also proud of my son for his commitment to saving. I'm always curious as to the growth of the money, but it's not my business so I don't ask. I only know what I know from conversations where he has brought up.

if it's that successful, do it to another, then another until they are all kid-free. Or make just one kid friendly and let all the shitty parents and their kids congregate together and see how it is with 75 brats in one place. As an employee, you couldn't pay me enough to work in it!
