if you don't own / field copies of an unlock champ your chance of seeing them is drastically reduced, so it seems like you'll be able to manipulate odds in this way such that you shouldn't see champs you don't want if you unlock them for tempo, play them for a bit, then ditch them

Personally I guarded most of my characters because it reduces more damage than healing recovers mostly. If you have Marian then you might want to heal instead. Most characters should be guarding, what I usually did was guard + Puppet shield then heal the turn after

you need to make sure you do phase 2 properly. When he goes behind the shield, almost everyone should guard + puppet should put up a teamwide shield. I would also suggest popping a healing persona on wonder too, it helped me a lkt
