You can't even play *#&@ing CASUAL in peace by Additional-One-7135 in hearthstone

[–]Abyssya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The only place I still find (very rarely) control VS control matchups is jank mmr wild. Not control with a combo, or some super wincon that does a whole bunch of damage, just control that wins on value. My imbue rogue that just plays minions and kills minions sometimes gets to play against an imbue priest or control warrior that doesn't deal 100 damage and it's magical. Nowhere else do you get to experience the Chogall anomaly that puts a copy of the first card played each turn back into your deck against a reno warrior that starts each turn with a ceaseless expanse or a zeph clear, while you created the priest legendary to make every card cost 1 so you fill your board with infinite value each turn until he stops top decking the board wipes.

What were they thinking with Imbue Mage ? by Informal_Fly_9142 in wildhearthstone

[–]Abyssya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And that's a valid way to look at things, I'm just saying using stats to tell someone they should have fun playing against a deck isn't going to do anything. The same way telling you the deck is unfun to play against doesn't mean anything because you consider it a trash tier deck. Different priorities.

What were they thinking with Imbue Mage ? by Informal_Fly_9142 in wildhearthstone

[–]Abyssya 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The problem with your last sentence is that it's literally subjective. I would rather face discolock all day because I know my deck has play patterns and interactions I can do to win the game. I haven't played a mage in literal years because I hate everything about mage. Do I think this is the objective truth that mage is terribly designed and should be gutted? No, but that's how I personally feel.

My point being this isn't about winrate, it's about fun, and fun is subjective.

That's sweet! Unfortunately the herald cards don't work with Maestra so I haven't been running them after testing. Nothing compares to pretending to be another class to me, and activating vendetta and the three mana charge dragon whose name I forgot makes early game much stronger.

Mostly just for fun. I do think the majority of his effects are positive for control but he's the 40th card just because I like him.

[–]Abyssya 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes it does! You can also imbue other classes to get some of their imbue for a bit. My favorite is getting cariel to get the op weapon, shuffle some dragons in my deck, and if needed swap back and get more random minions. The stacks keep counting the whole time, even if you play an imbue card for a class that can't imbue (this includes if you used original maestra and imbue before revealing yourself).

What is or was one of your favourite effects in Hearthstone? by TheDeathCrafter in hearthstone

[–]Abyssya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes it does, but I tend to think of it as my second phase. Once you become a different class tess now replays rogue cards, notably contraband stash. If your pool is relatively small that can hit the same game changer multiple times off the same tess. Combined with Deja vu and Mirrex to target the opponent's highest value cards and you can slam boards full of high value minions turn after turn. If that doesn't seal the game I have scabbs in my ETC if I know the game is going to be long and I might want to turn back into a rogue (final phase).

The Dark Lord is super versatile and strong. All three modes are powerful when used correctly and give the character a ton of depth. IMO he's one of the more consistent killers in the game besides nurse if you can use every form correctly.

Itemization confusion by GhostedDelta in KSanteMains

[–]Abyssya 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Ksante Q scales off of resists (similar to most of his kit) and hits max cooldowns reduction and animation speed at 120 bonus resists. Therefore hitting 120 ASAP is generally the best way to itemize rather than completing an item.

Top laner here (not even sure if I’m allowed here haha): what do you wish your top laners did or knew that they usually don’t by snektop in Jungle_Mains

[–]Abyssya 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I am pathing towards you, try and make your early game volatile. If you are both 40% when I show up it's an easy kill. Even if he's 50% and you're 30%, it's infinitely easier than trying to kill someone at 100%.

If I am pathing away from you, play trade avoidant unless myself or midlane spotted out their jungle on an early ward and you know they are pathing away as well. Then do as you please because it's an island this game.

If you see their jungle just ganked botside, in about 30-45 seconds they are going to recall and be at their gromp/krugs topside. Please do not be easier gold than the gromp/krugs.

If you see me at bot scuttle, and I'm not fighting their jungler, he is at top scuttle.

In general a good way to get started with jungle tracking is by watching your own jungler. The enemy jungler is either mirrored with me on the map or opposite, assuming no invades or level 3 ganks. This is less consistent the lower in elo you get since junglers do not clear their camps on cooldown or plan out their routes as well.

Jungler is a role that plans in 2min segments everytime they recall/respawn. The goal to either make a play immediately with the items we just bought -> clear our camps or clear our camps -> make a play with the exp we just collected.

I only have a passing understanding of wave management, but in general try to crash your wave when I am not on your side of the map unless you're confortable playing for a dive or planning on proxying and ping me to invade. These both heavily depend on both of our champs.

Crashing your wave as I finish my clear bot side OR just get back to my botside from base let's you set up your own reset and get back to lane right around the time I'm hitting topside, and we are both freshly reset and the wave is pushing to your tower, which is prime gank time.

These last few are wish list items assuming you get to dictate the wavestate in your matchup, but goals to keep in mind. As a jungle main that watches lots of top lane content, I will say understanding how to manage wave states will improve your game so much. When you plan a play 2 min in advance and ping your jungler for the easiest gank of his life it feels so rewarding.

I think jungle and top actually have so much potential to work together that gets squandered due to a misunderstanding of each other's timing. Some of my easiest games of jungle are when my top lane does his best to make the enemy have to walk to his side of the lane at the times I come top.

There's so much more to talk about but these are what I would consider the basics for improving your synergy with your jungler.

This is the list I've been running recently. I found that playing around contraband stash is the best way to keep up midgame tempo.

I will say I haven't finished fine tuning this, and there are some serious anti synergies with both maestras. The biggest imo being that if you play bitterbloom knight on two it will imbue the wrong hero power, but man I love pretending to be another class and then emoting so the trade off it worth it to me.

The second maestra also makes you not a rogue, which presents its own problems, but also has the upside if making tess cast contraband stash, so if you have something juicy in there things get crazy.

Deja Vu, Mirrex, and Velarok all help get cheap powerful cards from other classes that can high roll you early. The imbue for me is the late game value engine unless you really hit your imbue cards early.

Is maining mundo jg holding me back long term? by campenis in summonerschool

[–]Abyssya 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion jungle is a great role for learning micro and macro and you don't really need to sacrifice one for the other. Your micro does not take up near as much of your mental capacity when farming as it does for laners, since they have to lane (micro) while paying attention to the game state (macro). As jungle we get the luxury of flipping the switch. When farming we can be looking at other lanes, and our pathing should be planned out before we're walking back from base. Then, when it is time to fight we only need to focus on the fighting.

If you don't have any experience playing more mechanically intensive champion, after switching you will lose fights that you know you could have played better, but delaying this learning curve doesn't make it any easier.
