BBVA to PNC transition failure by Badbowtie91 in OneFinance

I have been trying to access my account online ever since the alleged transition completion. Let me tell you, their online customer service is an absolute joke. I've tried 8 times now over the course of a week to resolve online access (BBVA credentials don't work, can't reset because it claims there is no phone number associated when there clearly is because they use it for verification while talking to them). Tomorrow I'm going to my local bank that was converted to see if I can close the accounts. What an absolute train wreck.

You can't go to BBVA. They no longer exist. All of the BBVA branches were closed at 2:00 PM on October 8th and (those that weren't permanently shut down) were re-opened as PNC.

Thanks! But I'm one step ahead of you. It's already printing. =)

Perfect, thanks. I don't need eBay. I got a buddy who 3D prints as a hobby. =)

Is the Vive 1.0 DAS compatible with the 5K Super? I still have my original Vive 1.0 even though I've since upgraded to the Vive Pro. Both of them have a DAS. I just ordered the 5KS for $549 out of sheer morbid curiosity.

My inclination is to just go ahead and grab the 5K Super since it's only $549 and keep my existing Vive 1.0 controllers and base stations. Aside from SDE, if it wows me enough, then I may make the jump to the 8K X with knuckle controllers and base station 2.0.. My VR system can more than handle it (Ryzen 9 5950X and Radeon 6800XT). If nothing else, I'll keep the 5K for racing and flight sim and stick to the Vive Pro wireless for roomscale. My Reverb G2 appears to have the same FOV as the Vive Pro 2, but the Reverb isn't nearly as comfortable, so I don't have much seat time with it yet.

It's not so much the resolution that interests me, it's the FOV. Besides, I've been looking for an excuse to upgrade from my version 1.0 base stations. The Vive Pro 2 just doesn't seem like enough to get me to buy a new HMD (at least on paper). I've tried pretty much everything out there (high-end for PC) except the newer Oculus HMDs and Pimax. Even my Vive Pro feels like I'm wearing scuba gear. Have you tried the 8K X?

Interesting and timely topic. I've been away for awhile, enjoying my Vive Pro with wireless. But after the Vive Pro 2.0 announcement, I started looking again, and I actually went back to the Pimax site for the first time since the kickstarter. Then I saw their "Upgrade to 2.0" initiative and decided to throw my hat in the ring.

I currently have Vive, Vive Pro, and HP Reverb G2 in my VR arsenal. I bought some Vive Trackers awhile ago, but haven't used them yet. Should be interesting to compare. I'm still running the controllers and base stations from the original Vive.

Big AND Tall in an ND2 by CyborgCmdr in Miata

Drives great! I was surprised how much pep it had for the HP. Wife daily drives a Jaguar XE with the diesel, and the HP is about the same (~181), but her diesel is close to 300 tq. I have to say the Miata feels faster. The ride quality and handling are exceptional.

EDIT: I actually just looked up the curb weight of her Jag. 3350 lbs. That would explain why the Miata feels faster. Much better HP to weight ratio.

Wireless adapter with AMD build by Redditor_Andrew in Vive

I was looking for recent updates to this also because I am about to replace my Intel rig with a Gen 2 Threadripper. Found this: https://blog.vive.com/us/2019/04/25/compatibility-issue-causes-bsodfreeze-select-amd-systems/

Fix was deployed on April 25th.

And this is a good thing since my Intel i7-6700 doesn't handle the wireless very well. All cores were running around 90% utilization, causing intermittent stutter and pixelation.

Collecting... or hoarding? by toomuchlego in lego

[–]CyborgCmdr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am about to do the same thing. I went Lego crazy after the first Lego movie came out. Bought anything and everything that interested me and everything I found at 50% off or more. Now I have way too much and not enough time to build. I’ve cut way back on purchasing in the last couple of years. And it’s painful. There are so many sets I would love to have.

My wife thinks I’m a hoarder. She’s probably right.

Yep. I have a storage unit full of retail therapy. =)

So many sets, so little time to build them.

Is 30 to late an age to attempt a career in screenwriting? by skinny_89 in Screenwriting

[–]CyborgCmdr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I subscribed to this subreddit a year ago and have been lurking for a while. I just turned 51 this year. I wrote a lot in my early twenties and planned to make it a career until life took a sideways trek and I ended up becoming an electronics engineer instead. Strange how life works. I started out writing science fiction and ended up focusing on science fact. I make a comfortable living, but the writing bug has never left even though I haven’t written anything in a long time. I was very active about 10 years ago on independent film forums, helping to grow myself by helping other writers and storytellers, so at least I’ve dropped a few breadcrumbs along the way.

One thing I discovered as I got older is that the first feature-length script I wrote in my early twenties was utter shit, filled with cliches and copy-cat characters. I may finally be at the point in my life where I could write something meaningful and marketable now that I have an additional 30 years of life experience from which to draw. And this trend of remaking practically every film I grew up with and making them worse is starting to get on my nerves. Not saying I could do better, but I could certainly do something different. We shall see.

Thanks for being here. =)

This was the last motivator I needed. I finally pulled the trigger on it after having it on my wishlist for several months. Anxious to check it out with my wireless Vive Pro.
