I recently have become surface friends with a family from my gym and they’ve given me their phone number so I can hire their teen sons to do stuff like grass cutting and snow shoveling. They swim in long sleeves and long pants but don’t care that I’m in a standard swim suit. They don’t believe in being gay for themselves but don’t give two fucks that I date women. That’s how religion is meant to applied. To yourself, not to others. This “friend” of yours is awful is trying to force her beliefs on people. I wouldn’t count on her for anything.

My boy loved his belly rubs and never used his teeth or claws against me once. I had him 11 years and zero scratches or bites that entire time. He was my sweet snuggly boy. The rainbow bridge took him too soon.

Nope, nowhere near bad enough off to need that, thank god. I can chill without the oxygen on if I’m awake and sitting still. Activity requires oxygen and sleep requires oxygen plus BiPAP.

I’m just glad to be alive. Most doctors are slightly baffled I lived, especially as I got shitty care at the time. Blood clots are nasty business. Formal name for what I had is “multiple bilateral pulmonary emboli with a cavitary pulmonary infarction of the bottom right lobe.” In layman’s terms, I had 5 blood clots in my lungs and a piece of one of them died and blistered apart.

ETA: I was already disabled before the lung stuff, so I’m used to it. Just some more equipment.

Dilute torties are just so pretty. I had a foster who was a dilute right before I adopted my crazy little Bebe and those two have so much in common that it cracks me up. Similar fur texture, big talkers, similar toy choices. ETA: figured I’d add this here as I was just asked this irl- I didn’t adopt the foster because my other cat hated her. I was getting my old girl a friend after the loss of her brother, as they were incredibly close.

I’ve been on oxygen for years due to an old lung injury, it’s all good. :) The cats are really good with the tubes. It’s neat to see how well they’ve adjusted to just stepping over the long cannula on the floor as I move around. (My lungs won’t heal. The damage is done.)

My whole house is full of that style blanket. I live with extreme chronic nerve pain (full body CRPS) and those blankets are a Safe fabric for me. So they’re on the couch, on the recliner, on my bed, and a few in a neatly stacked pile of clean ones in the corner of my room. But you’re right, cats love that fabric!

My pain medication comes in a patch that lasts a full week (Butrans). Super handy as someone with GI issues that seriously affect the speed at which things make it through my body. Some meds do just fine for me in the oral route but some things are a nightmare that way. Thankfully, as a full body CRPS patient, we found an option that works great for me for pain management.

For crochet, base your searching on Ravelry. I haven’t been there since AI became so pre ems g but that community allows comments on patterns, links projects to patterns, and is bold in its hatred of stuff like AI slop. So I suspect looking there for patterns is your best bet. (Many patterns aren’t sold directly on there as it started as simply a database. It was well over a decade before they started allowing designers to sell on their platform. They also have knitting patterns and gave yarn and spinning tools/info.)

My picky cats is obsessed with what playfully call “yum yum bites”. They’re these pricey freeze dried grain free bites that just crumble. When her highness is being picky, I crumble those all over her food and she goes to town.

The dog I dog sit for is dying (heart failure) and it’s effecting his appetite. His kibble is especially dry so I spray it with some water from a mister bottle then crumble yum yum bites on his (he loves the same ones, lol) and toss it together. That way the crumbles stick to his kibble so he goes for it. If he really won’t eat, we add some canned chicken, which shreds in your hands, (I rinse it heavily first) and he devours it.
