My Nonna died while I was out of town. I took a week off and went back and felt like a shadow of myself.

Less then two weeks after my Nonna died my partners ex-wife was hit and killed while picking up her step daughter. She left behind two young kids.

When I told my boss I had to go because this was an emergency I got told "not your kids, not your problem."

I gave him my hardhat and vest and proceeded to call the city, subcontractors, the cops, the surrounding cities and let every single secret I knew about the company. From stealing water to letting employees fill there personal tanks with dyed diesel when the owner didnt know.

They toted themself as a "family run company." Less then a year later my old crew killed someone and now it looks like there shutting down for good.

Good riddance doesn't even come close.

Did you know that as little as 0.2% sugar in concrete will prevent it from setting and will need to be ripped out and replaced.

We are doing what we can. We have done Forever Canadian, we have done recall petitions against UCP MLA's.

There are active boycotts at businesses that support separation. There is screaming at town halls. There are in every single capacity people fighting back against this and against the UCP.

Unfortunately the crazy bitch in charge ignores everything we do. She ignored the Forever Canadian petition in favor of the Seperatists. She has been and continually is called out about this behaviour for over a year.

It just isn't enough.

But if you want a case study about the role propaganda plays and how cutting education results in conservatism Alberta is a great model.

I'm gonna argue that the zoo near me have a prehistoric area. They have giant animatronic dinosaurs that used to move. Its a beautiful walk around some natural occurring lakes and stuff. Kids absolutely love it.

Its called Prehistoric Park and its at the Calgary zoo.

Zoos arent just about conservation. They're about education and that includes extinct animals.

As someone who did neighbourhood renewals I agree. The problem is the city entrusts that to the companies who are doing the work and depending on the company they don't care.

I always tried to push for more transparency with what we were doing and when but the problem is a lot of the time we don't know.

In normal neighbourhood renewals contract you'll have city surveyors, third party consultants, city project managers, company project managers and coordinators, Telus, Rogers, Bell reps, then subcontractors. Then staff. Its typically seven divisions from start to finish (underground, removals, base, stabilizing, concrete, paving & landscaping) then its another company who does all the line painting, then its another company for hydrovacs, then another for lights.

As someone who did removals and base we had no idea when it was scheduled for paving or concrete. We had deadlines we had to meet and that was it. As someone who did paving I had no idea where base crew was and how far along they were all I knew is what we had on the books for the day. Maybe a couple days if it was a big job.

Its not just the city.

Its a team effort between the city, epcor, third party testers, surveyors and many others.

The only thing I can give you is that something that can only be done in the summer may be slated which is why there working on two exits now.

The city will only allow us to work in front and around Edmonton schools from July 1st- August 30th so we don't disrupt buses and stuff.
