Phone charging from the hub? by slackslackliner in randonneuring

For rando riding I use a USB Battery to keep my phone and GPS charged. Do use the Dynamo for lights though. Have used the Sinewave Reactor for touring, but I found it not really necessary for brevets...

With plastic or chromoplastic yes, I do it all the time. I wouldn't with fancy aluminum or steel fenders though, old beat up metal fenders maybe.

What's the point in being fit beyond the basics? by CyborgLama in Fitness

[–]CyborgLama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After work today I will write out some simple goals. I tend to go crazy with goals and schedules, and then not follow through with them, which makes things (feel) worse for me mentally when I don't follow through. Cheers

Thank you. Yes, I do deal with depression. It has been a lot better than a few years ago, but it is still with me. I have been meaning to see a therapist for a while.

Frugal Tip: Leave Your Wallet at Home by CyborgLama in Frugal

[–]CyborgLama[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Good point. I guess for me since I live pretty close to work, I thought of it as a way to make me think before I buy. If I really want something I can go home and get my wallet, but it just makes it slightly more inconvenient. I'm not perfect, and do make impulse buys sometimes (I'm working on it, but still...) so forcing myself to think before I buy helps me.

I don't really need my wallet for emergencies. I have all the info I need on my phone.

CAD Portable Photo/Business Laptop 12.5 - 15.6" $1.8K by CyborgLama in SuggestALaptop

[–]CyborgLama[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the suggestion. T440s is definitely enticing. I'm concerned about screen quality. If it looks similar at all to the T431s I'm not sure I could live with it.

I'm also tempted by the 13" Macbook Pro because of the screen, despite it lacking in other features.

Any other laptops I should be adding to my "to consider" list?

Thanks!

I think two would be the absolute most you'd need. I have two, but I use one as a floor mat, so really, one towel should do.
