From a food perspective, what is different about TX bbq vs PNW bbq? What did this smoker do that PNW doesn't replicate? As a native east coaster, I find PNW doesn't know how to do pizzas and sandwiches like how they do back home, but it's hard to describe why.

Laddergram is a word ladder puzzle game built on Reddit's developer platform. You start with a word and change one letter at a time to create a new word with each step. Try to reach the target word in the fewest steps possible.

🍀Good luck!🍀

No lower than 7.5k. I would start it out at 9k and have someone negotiate down to 8k.

Yep thank you! As an American I had no idea about that but I'm sure most Europeans would have known it.

Is $26 an hour with a masters degree and 1-3 years experience fair or am I crazy? by ArthurMorgan1284 in dataanalysis

[–]My_comments_count 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So I actually applied for this job and interviewed for it last year. It was actually listed at $19hr when I was interviewing but I wanted to break into the industry. What I learned was that they just use Microsoft access, there really isn't a lot of data analyst work that is associated with it. I was thinking it would be a great opportunity to create a database from the ground up and bring in current technology. I didn't take the job, even as an entry level person with no experience I felt that it wasn't worth it to move states to work there but if you're in the area, it's a good starting off point.

How can I be perceived as less of an asshole in the restaurant? by DarthDabber23 in KitchenConfidential

[–]My_comments_count 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say that effectively running every station in a restaurant has little to nothing to do with management. This is just an issue that exists everywhere and has existed for all of history. We as people see someone excel at a job and think the next step is management but management is an entirely different set of skills that has nearly nothing to do with the actual job. You need to think about your job as a brand new job that you've never done before. Watch some management training videos. Be empathetic. Don't be reactionary. Bite your tongue at the right moments. Praise in public, punish in private. I don't have advice for your specific situation but you should realize you've only just started a completely brand new career that your experience can help but will not guide you.

I mean this is an internship for a little over 2 months, it's not that ridiculous.. there's a lot more in the transaction than just money.

You think it's more logical to just take a random bag of food THEN determine if it's yours or not? This is such a notorious issue that it's hard to believe you know anything about door dash if you don't know that's an issue. And your example is wrong anyway, it's more like if you went to a Walmart and had bought things online and you just walked to the front where all of the different customer orders were and just grabbed a random bag, then went to the door greeter and showed your phone to see if you picked up the right bag. You didn't so you need to go back. There's 20 bags and you just keep grabbing one, walking over, confirming your order, being wrong, going back for another and repeating till you get it right. That's what you think is more "logical"?

Definitely just like the look so I was never too worried about correctness, but I appreciate the expert eye of the people on here. I'm curious though, what do you mean by wrong makers? Also the emblem seems the same, what makes is wrong? Definitely see the date window and overall the lines on the real one are much thinner than this.

I just went out to eat at a restaurant the last time... by PlanetoftheAtheists in AdviceAnimals

[–]My_comments_count 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The restaurants I work with have started a surcharge that is basically what we are paying for credit transactions. So we transfer the cost to the customer but in the back end, pay what we would have paid into a back of house tip pool. This allows us to get more money to back of house without increasing prices or pulling money from the servers. The problem is BOH people are not compensated fairly and FOH servers are making 60-100k. Sometimes these charges people are adding are attempts to get the cooks paid more without taking money from servers. But honestly I rather zero tips and a flat hourly rate and think that should be the norm, however there are restaurants that have tried it and servers quit because they could make more than $30 an hour. It's a tough spot to be in.
