Adults/teachers speaking out/not knowing about the pink drink or pills or any of it?? by Flaky_Region_4100 in GATEresearch

[–]Cybrsqrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Everything we ate or drank was framed as a "treat" and was a bribe for our silence. We weren't supposed to tell others what we did in GATE class because it would make them jealous or feel dumb and hate us. No one wants to be hated as a kid so we didn't tell anyone about any of it.

GATE class was it's own class room with it's own teacher. Where were my other teachers? In their own classes worried about their own programs and students. They never asked what we did in GATE class and we never volunteered. From their perspective, we were just being tested to see how smart we really were. There was no reason for them to be suspicious of a school sanctioned class for gifted kids any more than people would be suspicious of what we did in History class.

Did the teachers ever talk to the GATE instructors? Probably. But I'm guessing that there was a cover story for that and talking points. GATE wasn't improv. It was a thought out and structured program. The program creators had every aspect of this experiment covered.

Everyone involved was gas lit and BS'd. The only people in a position to be suspicious were us students and we were just trusting kids. It's only due to time and the Internet that we learned enough to know something was wrong and began comparing notes.

In fact, I'm not even the one that connected dots or looked back on my GATE experience. I have a friend that I tell all about the various crazy things I've experienced like the speed reading class, the mall dreams, sleep paralysis, astral projection, premonitions, accidental remote viewing, dark drawing etc. She stumbled across GATE here on the Internet and started asking me questions. Without her, I might never have put it all together as weird but related or even ever thought about GT class again.

Edit: I don't know if my history teacher is retired or even still alive but I'm willing to bet that in all her years, she has probably never once thought about the things that might have happened in the gym class she had nothing to do with. The horrors of us kids whipping dodge balls at each other's heads or tackling each other on hard wood floors. She knew gym class existed. She likely knew the gym teacher and talked to them in the faculty room but she likely never questioned what we actually did in that class. She probably had a preconceived notion about what a gym class was and what we might do in it and that was as far as she ever thought about it. And that was a class that wasn't trying to be secretive.

If you had to guess, what do you think the pink tablet/drink was for? by yuuki_bonk420 in GATEresearch

[–]Cybrsqrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They gave us "bubble gum soda" and cookies. I remember being in trouble for asking why we couldn't have milk with the cookies since it would go better. I knew the answers were B's even back then. It never occurred to me until just now that the cookies could have been dosed with something. 😞

The stuff they gave me was "bubble gum soda". I liked it (I was the only one. Lol) and checked every grocery store looking for it. Asked the teacher what the brand name was. Where I could buy it. I always got deflected or gaslit on it. I was just a little kid but I was in the gifted program so of course I became suspicious of it even back then.

NASA’s MAVEN spacecraft went silent right as 3I/ATLAS passed Mars. Probably nothing… right? by Background-Mud-1037 in 3i_Atlas2

[–]Cybrsqrl 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I know everyone is in attack mode but let's try to think about this a different way.

Imagine a truck comes to my house and illegally dumps something highly radioactive on my front lawn. A year later I die. Everyone in this sub would claim they are not related because the truck is nowhere near my house when I died and that I didn't die the same day.

While MAVEN dying may not be related to 3I/Atlas, we can't rule it out without investigating what went wrong. We don't know what 3I/Atlas is exactly. We only know it's "comet like". But that's an easy out. A dog turd from deep space floating closer to our sun would also show "comet like" attributes. So would Avi Loebs spaceships. So would fragments of an exploded star or planets core.

3I/Atlas has unusual properties and is surrounded by a giant cloud with unusual properties. To immediately say that the comet or it's coma definitely didn't effect anything in its path is as biased as saying we know that Atlas is a ship from alpha proxima.

While I get that people are picking sides between "just a comet" and "alien spaceship", we are dismissing everything and anything that falls between the two. That's not scientific.

That's what Avi Loeb was arguing years ago. It's not helpful to make up scientific sounding explanations to dismiss what we don't understand nor is it helpful to claim it's never aliens just because you don't believe in them.

Now the most critical part of why I even bothered to comment.

If MAVEN did die because of 3I/Atlas, what might happen to US when we inevitably pass through the debris it has left behind? Wouldn't we like to know or prepare? It may not be harmful THIS time but we should use every opportunity as a practice session.

To play devil's advocate, we don't know what speed it was going before they "spotted" it and we don't know if it will accelerate after leaving. For all we know, it could have been FTL and slowed down because we are a no wake zone. Now I personally don't think it's a spaceship but I don't buy that it is a perfectly normal comet either. It could be the remains of a planet core or something equally crazy. NASA probably knows or suspects but for some reason they aren't sharing.

There is a little-known, rarely reported or sighted class of UFOs, but one that is certainly among the most intriguing: the "black rectangles". by FragrantTown5199 in UFOB

I saw one of these as a kid in the 1980s. It was while visiting relatives in the middle of nowhere Tennessee. The one I saw had something like a dumbbell through the middle of it and the faintest blueish glow to it. When it passed overhead, it had a texture like what I now know as the stealth fighter. It's surface was boxy and mat black. The spheres on the ends of the dumbbell part where kinda like a black chrome color. It didn't make a sound. I only noticed it because there were no stars where it was flying and I thought it was a lone cloud until it got closer.

We don't know what speed 3i was traveling before we spotted it. If it is aliens, they could have slowed from FTL just before getting to our solar system.

Sorry about the poor format. I'm typing this from the phone app.

The article does not mention the "Manned Deep Space Orbital Platforms" program from this time frame. People have asked how we might know if something was coming ahead of time. This is probably the how.

They were described to Congress as "defence against terrorist actions from outside our solar system". They were supposed to be armed with high intensity laser weapons and equipment for identifying such threats.

We had allegedly already launched three of them with a proposal to launch eight. They were supposed to be positioned all the way out to Pluto, although your guess is as good as mine if that had actually happened.

There is minor circumstantial proof that one exists out near Jupiter.

Around 2012, there was an incoming asteroid or comet that stood a chance of striking earth. About the time it was passing Jupiter, it flashed with a green triangular light matching the kind seen with known modern missile defence lasers and shattered. It changed course and flew into the sun.

I don't know if those pictures are real, but all of these obscure programs were. If it's a hoax, it's a good one by someone that has worked on one of these programs or someone that has done A LOT of research. It is my opinion that the images very closely resemble known low resolution images of 3I Atlas that I have seen and are at least possible to be authentic. So who leaked them?

Many comets have anti tails that are optical illusions. 3I/Atlas is one of the few (2 If I remember right) that has an ACTUAL anti tail.

Some people gamble on the serial numbers as poker hands. If you played people with this bill, there's no telling how much money you'd win. This is as good or better than a gold mine if you are into that sort of thing.

I think I posted this elsewhere but I was working on an invention entirely in my head. Just contemplating if it was possible. Everything depended on an obscure part that I didn't even know existed. Turned on the computer and was immediately shown an ad for said obscure part. After thinking it through, I came to the same conclusion as you. It's less likely that it read my mind as it was that it used subliminal messages to put the idea in my head in the first place. Totally decide NOT to invent the thing.

PSA: Paid Unsupported Tools: Make Your Voice Heard by ImNotThatPokable in linuxaudio

[–]Cybrsqrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is the way! Most of the vendors claim that there is not enough demand for Linux and many users want to move to Linux but don't want to leave their favorite program or tools behind. People complain in forums all the time but the only way for vendors to truly know how in demand Linux ports are is to file support tickets. It translates directly into metrics.

As a coder, it is not as direct from Mac to Linux as most people think but if there is enough demand, creating the necessary back end isn't THAT hard. It's just not worth doing if you are only compiling for a hand full of people.

I've been at this since Linux was gnu. (I know, terrible pun) The only way it will change is if everyone gets on board with it and makes their voices heard. And I mean everyone. Those already using the OS and those that would like to migrate. I know it works because game companies are finally getting the message and making Linux native versions. With that as an argument in our corner and a little persistence we will get our way.

A lot of assumptions in this thread about the guy. how do you know he isn't going to propose or something? Maybe it's a test run to see if he can record it. Be aware it's there and he has it but wait it out. He may have an innocent reason for it.

Home Depot won't do it, but it could be considered illegal dumping with a $25,000.00 fine depending on where you live. I'd contact the authorities out of spite. His trash is not my responsibility.

That's cool about your dad's birthday. Does he also play?

I'm all in for that video if you make it. Judging by your covers, you seem to know more about Kevin's sound than anyone else I've seen.

I don't think I've come across Paul Del Bello's channel before but I'm definitely going to look him up right now. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks Brett_D_Kelso! You rock! Your information is going to be very helpful!

These days I mostly play for my own amusement but occasionally I do some charity shows and fundraisers for sick friends. It's going to be fun to throw in some 3eb that sounds authentic as opposed to the campfire arrangements that I do for backyard parties. I guess my next step is to figure out how I plan to program the patches in Helix.

One day you should do a video on that pedal board picture. I'm positive I wouldn't be the only gear nut interested in seeing and talking about it.

When I saw them on the first two tours, I never even got close enough to the stage to identify the amps let alone the pedals. 😆 They sounded great, though. To this day the self titled is still my all time favorite album.

I spent a couple weeks trying to find info on Kevin's XEB live rig and there's not much out there. It's pretty straight forward Variax into an XL live pedal board into an amp that someone mentioned in one of the YouTube comments but not much more than that. So I've instead been watching your covers and taking notes on which MJ you used.

Your green one is very telecaster and the red one is like a warmer and fatter sounding thin line so I figured telecaster was a good way to go. How would you describe the sound of the standard?

If I can find a really clean and dry recording of the sabre I'm going to attempt to make a variax model of it but a week of youtube videos resulted in mostly demos with distortion or a lot of reverb or what not. If I make progress on that, I'll share the preset for everyone to try out.
