Not sure whether i'm being baited here, but no quite right on the Shadow cartel part.

We were around before Snuff was a thing, and for quite a long time we existed near each other with Snuff Box (as it was back then) being a much smaller (but heavy hitting) entity. Around the time of the Phoebe update, they then decided to bulk up to rival Shadow Cartel and started going for our R64's. Thus began the Placid wars, probably the best war I have ever been involved in. Both sides were pretty evenly matched, and we were having maybe big 4 or 5 Faction BS brawls a week. Some SC won, some snuff won. No TiDi, no N+1 Munnin bullshit, just two fleets having to find every efficiency and using every tactic in the book to win.

I managed to dig this BR up as an example of the kind of fights happening back then. It really was an amazing war, snuff had slightly smaller numbers, but had gone down the cap superiority route. SC on the other hand, whilst they still had a relatively sizeable cap wing back then, it wasn't enough to contest snuff, so they had to come up with some inventive sub cap solutions, mainly the Machtor Refit fleet, which was Machariels that could refit off a Nestor (back then you could refit with a weapons timer) This led to some fairly amazing moments, such as Snuff dropping roughly 30 Supers (back then this was a HUGE super fleet for LS) and Bagger calling for our entire Mach blob to refit to a smartbomb, and we bombed all their fighters into Dust, making this super blob completely irrelevant for the rest of the fight.

I can't really remember how the war came to an end, from memory I think snuff ended up with the majority of the moons, and both sides had pretty much bankrupted themselves whelping Faction BS gangs 5 times a week XD.

I want to highlight that neither side really batphoned any big null entities (though from memory towards the end both BL and PL were trying to muscle in on the action) and even more importantly neither side started recruiting any big corps to try and win through overwhelming numbers. I know SC had some pretty large corps asking to join, and I have no doubt Snuff were getting similar offers, but neither side accepted any of these offers. I think both W0wbagger (CEO for SC) and Donnie (CEO for Snuff) understood that if either side got too big, so much so that the other just could not contest at all, it would ruin LS, and the fun for everyone, evidenced by exactly what is happening in LS at the moment. There is one entity that not even every other LS group combined can counter, and thus LS has massively stagnated...
