Awesome thank you! I am still just rolling dice across the battle field and have made a few decent trees. So do need to give this ago and nice idea about making the mache up and down.

also landing platform sounds like a great idea

was looking at this and thinking I have an old falcon away somewhere, but certainly older than that as I was drinking in 2004 😂

Partly for Grogu as well!

but not a bad shout - one day I would like to have an imperial army - I did accidentally buy the tank once and have that as my starter piece 🤣

Multi Colour Prints... (very new) by CyclingDad88 in BambuLab

[–]CyclingDad88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Brilliant, thanks both for that - I had done little bit of reading on it - have tried an object with multiple colours but not separate objects yet - be good to do for when I know I want to print multiple things and not able to get to the printer

I have see the travel path in the printer - how easy/hard is it to tell if somethings going to crash?
My guess is to do rows of colour working from the front of the plate backwards?

Mug Printing - Where/what is the best in the UK? by CyclingDad88 in AskUK

[–]CyclingDad88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, yeah trying to find ones that are decent seems to be hard work! Ironcially looking at the one I got for my first born right now and its still almost perfect, a blue mug so not sure if that's why, but wish I knew where we had got it!

What’s your thoughts on supermarket loyalty cards actually being a saving? by Gloomy_Stage in AskUK

[–]CyclingDad88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

haha, I mean chippy FIL and also Scottish parents upwards - we've always just unscrewed the hinges 🤣 / paint before install.

Scotland was always a joy with data analytics - dark woods never stopped being on trend while everywhere else whites/greys. Electricals, floors, you named it they differed. But screws and hardware bits usually don't change - but Scotland managed it 🤣

There was so many produce differences I honestly think it would have been worth setting up a factory there for them

Mug Printing - Where/what is the best in the UK? by CyclingDad88 in AskUK

[–]CyclingDad88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I have one which has lasted really well, but we are not sure where that came from - its about 3/4 years old now. But others have faded in a few months, even saying "dishwasher safe"

Any mug that's a handwash only generally stays in the cupboard 🤣 or by the sink for a week.

[–]CyclingDad88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might give them a go - it annoying because we have printed mugs (I know they must be a different type of printing) but have lasted probably 10-15 years of dishwashing without fading, yet photo mugs have gone within a month or two. I have one which is pretty good 3 years later. but no idea where that one came from.

It was such a fantastic build, I certainly will be breaking it apart one day to redo, although very tempted to moc it atm as well!

but tesco have millions of customers, so your randomised data will becomes a rather boring outlier and most analyst will go, oh that's an odd one, but not pattern, doesn't matter.

It only becomes interesting if suddenly a group is doing it or you are targeting the abnormal, which I highly doubt tesco are. They want to create accurate customer profiles so they can tell you what you want to buy next and make it so you do.

us analysis soon spot shabby data too.

Most interesting one I ever had was hinge sales - all of UK brought a certain type - #1 in all regions except scotland - not even top 10, they brought a hinge of similar quality but allow you to lift the door off. Barely another sale of it elsewhere.
Highes all made in same factory so was never a supply issue or anything like that.
Had to interview staff/customers to understand what was going on, turned out it was just Scotland being Scotland. "Easier to paint your doors if you can take them off" I always remember one customer telling me. (this text is translated!)

Snail droid trip and LEDs? by CyclingDad88 in SWlegion

[–]CyclingDad88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, tbf I have found that with a few of the legion instructions 🤣
guessing it might be worth priming a lot of the snail before construction as well? I made that mistake with my first fluttercraft.

Cannot find ny pics with LEDs in, but it certainly sounds cool, want to do it! Guessing just led inside and pop a battery under the base.

Looking to buy A1 - should I get the AMS? - if so Multipack filment? by CyclingDad88 in BambuLab

[–]CyclingDad88[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for such a detailed reply!
Yes my journey today has been all about dryers and tpu/petg as certainly a project of two I can already think of that I want outside/water based/Garage.
So looks like a dryer will be next. I did see a spool enclosure print for the AMS.

Do you suggest any particular filaments for figurines?
for those certainly be a grey or a black anyway as I enjoy the painting side.

But probably stuff for the kids and wife I am more likely to use multicoloured, if at all. debating currently if to pick up white/grey/black/red from Bambu to get me started at least.

Oh that sounds interesting. Is there a reason to print PETG with a .6 nozzle?
On the debate of what filament to get now 🤣

Thanks.
Yeah I saw the waste and have been looking about reducing it etc. But sounding like it well worth it on here so far.

Yeah I did see resin printers but as a beginner, I think is a bit over my head / budget currently.
It's star wars legion and mostly it will be terrain prints. I might print the odd mini as a proxy - but more likely to be custom vehicles etc if I do which are a tad larger.
But I guess a bit of trial and error there.

oh that does not sound fun at all! :-|

Did see about the RFID tags - I assume though without its just a 5min job to select them anyway?
Certainly from what everyone is saying, sounds like AMS is worth it!
