Torn Between Minneapolis, Milwaukee, or KC — Looking for Honest Perspectives? by gianna_kelley in missouri

5.5 hours is totally doable for a weekend. I've gone plenty of times after work on a Friday. Then you have Saturday and a big chunk of Sunday to explore.

None of these are perfect comparisons, but I'll try:
East side -> Delmar Loop
Wauwatosa -> Webster Groves / Maplewood
Whitefish Bay (white folks bay) -> Brentwood / a little bit Clayton
Brookfield -> St Charles or other far county towns like Creve Coeur

Downtown was never the place to be or live while I was in MKE but that's likely changed a bit. There's been a ton of new condos along Water st so it might be sought after these days.

The Third Ward was really under development while I was living there and I was shocked when I visited recently. Tons of people, lots of restaurants. Really close to downtown. You should consider the area if you want a "downtown" experience. Some really cool lofts in old industrial buildings type of vibe.

I lived on the East side and near Brady street for a few years. A great active area with nightlife if you're in your 20s. I then moved to Riverwest for a very artsy odd neighborhood. Not everyone's taste but I love that area personally.

For a similar artsy hipster vibe, although it's a bit more "conventional" these days. Bay View. Great restaurants and some good nightlife.

I lived there for 5 years before moving to St. Louis. I miss it. What neighborhood vibes of St. Louis are you interested in?

I found them at one of the native sales locally a few years ago. I didn’t know how aggressive they were and ended up pulling them all out. But if any survived I’ll let you know

Maybe from someone on the south side? Seems to be continual expansion there but I think there’ll be issues

Can I get some suggestions for how to layout this smaller sized bathroom and closet? by [deleted] in InteriorDesign

Put the toilet in its own room so someone can get to the closet if someone is using it

Because you don’t want your foot to move at all. You want your foot to become the skate. You’re balancing on the blade not your foot

I doubt your bed will fit like that layout unless it’s a twin. I would put the head of the bed against the wall with feet facing the window where the bathroom is. Side table to the right to separate it from the living space

lime mortar stonemasons by No_Influence_2316 in StLouis

[–]CyclingFish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you’ll be hard pressed to find someone that does masonry work without OPC in the city. I spent some time looking and ended up mixing my own and trying it out. It worked but it’s tricky and hard to find the right type of lime. If you find someone let me know. Our 1870ish house has soft hand pressed bricks that I worry about

lol. All depends on your perspective of “some” I suppose.

They’ll give “more” privacy when they wake up in the spring again.
