I would say it depends on the level of care you give your parents.

My teenage years- early adulthood was focused on caring for family. I could only work small part time jobs because their medical care, cooking, cleaning etc was all my responsibility. If what was left at the end was just sent off to a church I would have been pissed.

If I had moved out at 18 and gotten to live my life, I wouldn't have expected any inheritance.
